Chapter 1
Ragini came back home dejected. She was doing this everyday now. New york is a big and she knew nothing about her husband. Swara saw her fallen face.
Swara - " So no result again?". My Ragini why are you searching that guy so much. Will you force him to accept you?"
Ragini - " No swara not at all. I am not searching him to ask him to take me back. Infact I am searching him to throw him out of my life. But before that I wanna see him and question him. I won't leave him so easily. I am gonna teach him that a woman and her emotions are not to play. I won't accept him even if he begs me to"
Swara didn't say anything. She was surprised because of what ragini said. Her timid friend/roommate was a lioness and she was proud of her. She hadn't forgotten how she had met Ragini a week ago. A timid girl walking on the road,holding her back near her chest. Some bikers were teasing her and she was trying to fight back. Though Swara had completely forgotten that she also an Indian but for the first time Ragini had reminded her that. It was her favourite hobby to mess with those bikers. She shoed them away and took ragini with her in a corner.
Swara - " Hello behenji who the hell are you? Was it fun to mess with those bikers?"
Ragini was all quiet. She had never thought her first experience to be to get bullied by a gang of bikers. She was traumatised. Swara was looking at her for an answer.
Swara - Hello devi ji apko english aata hai? Do you know how to speak english?"
Ragini shook her head. Swara breathed a sigh of relief.
Swara - " Ok what's your name? What are you doing here?"
Ragini - " Hum ye apko kyu bataye. Hum to apko jante bhi nahi"
Swara - " Hello miss mai bachayi tumhe. I saved you. How can you talk to me like this? You should be grateful to me"
Ragini - " Ok thank you i am really grateful. Now i need to go"
Swara - " And where are you staying?"
The reality dawned on Ragini. She had nowhere to go. She was in an unknown place among unknown people. She had one bad experience and she was afraid of many more to come.
Ragini - " Hamare paas rehne ki koi jagah nahi hai. Hum kisi hotel me chale jayenge"
Swara - " Darling! Hotels ke rate pta hai. They are too expensive. But I know a place where you can live free of cost. With me"
Ragini - " Why do you want me to live with you? What are your intentions?"
Swara - " My intentions are really dangerous. I am gonna kidnap you and ask for a big ransom. Just kidding. You need a place to live and I need someone to cook for me as I am tired of eating outside or the extremely horrible uncooked food I make. So deal"
Ragini had no idea what to do. She hardly knew this girl and she seemed a little weird. Could she trust her? But then the people she supposedly trust,her husband and her in laws also broke her. What worst could Swara do. With this thought she shook her hand and they started living together.
"Swara kya soch rahi ho?" Ragini shook swara
"Kuch nahi I am proud of you Devi ji. Ab rest karo aur dinner se pehle aa jana koi special aa raha hai". Swara had a wide grin. Ragini knew her special someone.
Ragini lied down on the bed. Her mind shifted to the incidents after the phone call. She remembered how dadi and papa were against her trip to New York. Dadi was so much against it that she proposed Ragini to call her in laws and beg them to take her back, but she didn't. Why would she? It was not her fault. She took her stand and decided to leave for New York even if everyone was against her. Tears rolled down her eyes and she decided to get ready for the evening. She went to the cupboard and took out a pink top. "Oye don't look prettier than me". Swara shouted from outside. Ragini laughed. In a place full of strangers Swara was her own. Maybe Swara felt the same way. She was also alone. They were each other's strength. Ragini put the pink top back and chose a simple white top. After all it was Swara's special day. She came out and saw Swara. Swara was standing in a short black dress. Ragini hugged her."You look gorgeous" Swara smiled.
Suddenly they heard the doorbell. Swara asked Ragini to open the door and went inside to touch up.
Ragini opened the door and saw a very handsome guy. He was wearing a black jacket and denim. He smiled on seeing Ragini."You must be Ragini. Hi I am lucky,swara's boyfriend."
They shook hands.
