I don't get if only modernity is problem 4 laksh 2 except ragini coz she don't wear western clothes , then why don't laksh take her out on honeymoon or a holiday gift her modern dresses , I m sure ragini will wear 4 him , will carryout well.

The problem is he thinks he can never love a girl like ragini he always wanted a modern girl who suits his life style and ragini is more traditional and shy types that's the only reason i can think of
