It is as simple as that & as complicated as that.
________ Quote.
When she walked into his life... or rather forced into his life as he saw it that time.. all he wanted to do is push her away.
He tried.
and tried.
and tried some more.
And then he couldn't.
Despite himself she became a part of his life.
His friend.
His sunshine.
His shield.
And then she became a part of him.
And when someone tore her away from him... he found himself being torn into two.
As if she is not being taken away from him.. he is being taken away from himself.
All he wanted to do is be with her. and yet he knows he can't.
He has his own private hell and she is too pure a soul to be dragged in and get singed in the fire of that hell.
Yet... All he wanted to do... is be with her.
And so he wept.
For the beginning for their journey.
For the end that will never be.
Heart breaking.
But that little gesture... of him touching the ground.. where she was right there, her imprint, her scent, just her.. him touching that ground with trembling fingers, with unfathomable emotions, with heart rendering poignancy... just to feel her... The most heart breaking gesture of all.
More than his monologues,
more than his tears,
more than his words... what was most heart breaking was.. that little gesture. Because sometimes a little gesture says it all...
How much she means to him.
How much he needs her.
How truly he wants her in his life. with him.
How much he cares for her.
How broken he will be without her.
How much she means to him.
...That little gesture.
