Naina and Karan are simply a class apart. It is so beautiful to see their story unfold before us. The amount of depth, understanding, pain and emotion contained in their story is simply amazing. Today was a perfect example of how magical these two are. ❤️
Since yesterday, have you noticed the way Karan looks at Naina? All through when he was listening to her rant about why he should participate, through yesterday's photoshoot, through today's photoshoot, he had that one look. It conveyed many things. Astonishment at how somebody could be the way she is, indulgence at her antics, gratitude for her support and a little something else, conveyed by the softening of his eyes, his half smiles, his cute "Ulta Hai" to Naina's crown and his retort of "Dost kiski hai?" That something is what is going to turn into love, much much later. And how would he able to stop himself from falling for Naina anyways when she is such a beautiful soul who understands his deepest fears and desires and helps him tackle them little by little.
Naina is simple priceless. The way she made Karan comfortable in the photoshoot, saying that she will try and he just has to blink to indicate his acceptance and she will move away immediately if he is uncomfortable was just so beautiful that I don't have enough words to describe it. She even asked him before if he trusted her and of course Karan said yes. The way Naina makes him comfortable is so endearing to watch. And you can see the result in the photoshoot. Those photos were simply magic. And Naina is such a smart cookie. How firmly did she stop Sandhya from suggesting stuff and got her own way. I have always believed that Naina waits for her chance and then strikes and she has become wiser after the medicines incident. And it was proved today.
I have no words for how evil Sandhya is. And we also got to see how thoroughly she manipulates Karan, hitting his weak spots repeatedly, playing up his insecurities incessantly. No wonder Karan's confidence is in tatters. If this is what he is subjected to since childhood then it is a wonder that he is still sane.
Now coming to one of the best NaiRan scenes till date. Karan is outside in the market thinking he can't participate. Notice how he is worried about disappointing both his Ma and Naina. She really has made a place in his life. He decides, in an almost endearingly childish way, to eat mirchi so that he gets an allergic reaction. Naina comes and stops him and boy is she miffed at him. She instantly figures what he wanted to do and in a brilliant counter, goes to a nearby shop and asks for cigarettes. Karan obviously reaches next to her in an instant and throws the packet away asking if she has gone mad and doesn't she know these are harmful to health? Naina responds that this is exactly what he was doing too. "Agar tum apne aap ko nuksaan pahunchate huye mujhe nahi dekh sakte toh khud ko kaise nuksaan pahuncha rahe the Karan?" She tries to explain to him but he tells her all his fears about how he can't touch anyone, he won't be able to dance, he doesn't want to shame his family, they bear a lot because of him anyway. He tells her not to try and change him as there is no point and asks her to remember how many times he has not been able to hold her hand when she has offered it to him. He walks away dejected. But Naina, instead, remembers the one time he had held her hand, during the mehendi when he had saved her from falling of the roof. "Pakda hai tumne mera haath Karan. Aur iss competition mein bhi tum zaroor hissa loge."
Naina and Karan individually are very nice and exceptional people. But together, they are so much more. They complete each other in ways they don't even realize. They are true soulmates. And when they are together, the world is magical.
