There is something heartbreaking about those feelings and desires, which you never really thought you had but their unfulfillment increasingly pinches you. That was Naina in today's episode.

When she got married, Naina's thoughts were of her mother and sister and a little of the idea of marriage in general. She had thought that if not love, she will probably be able to befriend her husband and will take it from there. Now, she is increasingly being faced with the reality of an unwanted marriage. It gets especially highlighted when you have the example of a loving relationship in front of you.

When Naina saw MeghNal today, she was happy for her sister, obviously. Infact, she is an out and out MeghNal shipper! 😆 But along with that, she had that wistful expression which she now always has when she talks about her Di and jiju. When NaiRan looked at each other today, Naina's expressions were a bit embarresed at being caught looking but also a very small tinge of longing. She doesn't exactly want romance from Karan, they are not at that stage at all. But it does pinch her that Karan refuses to even acknowledge that they have a relationship. All her flashbacks in the garden were of him discrediting their rishta. That is what makes her disturbed, the fact that there has been no sign from Karan that the situation will improve. Everything she has tried has not worked. You really do feel for her. But then, unwanted marriages aren't romantic Naina. It's a home truth you have to learn.

But she hasn't given up hope. She very nicey managed to lie about Karan not going to Boondi and absolving him of any blame. In her own way, she is giving him time to adjust to this relationship and settle down. She didn't ask him to come with her even once. And then lied to everybody about his absence. This is somewhere going to affect Karan. As we saw today, he was listening to her white lies from the window and his expression was... interesting. Like he didn't know what to make of this girl. Who could have easily told the truth but did not. Who had a problem lying to his mother yesterday but lied to the entire family today for him. Whether this is what gets him to Boondi or not, we will find out next week. But somewhere, Naina has made a place for herself in a little corner of his mind.

P.S. - The two lines are from a sher by Ghalib. They mean that I had a thousand desires, each of which can consume a lifetime. Though a lot of my desires were fulfilled, those were few in number and a majority remain unfulfilled.

This 😆 Maybe I am too practical to understand why exactly Naina was hoping for anything much already, at this stage in their relationship. I mean, before the marriage, just a little bit earlier, Karan told her to stay away from him. He's been helpful in certain situations, but never indicated that he'd be interested in friendship (maybe she thought he'd be more reasonable since he agreed to the marriage but then, even during the rituals she felt his unwillingness, to some extent). It should have crossed her mind that it'd be very difficult to get anything, even the smallest of signs out of him 🤔 But then, Naina's also been shown as a romantic person. I think deep down, she has these notions about love and romance from movies (something like this came up once between NaiRan) and was hoping that if nothing else, he'd mellow down. But then, how long has it been? One day? Two?

I'd really enjoy it, actually, if with NaiRan, they'd show us that love, real love is not that fairy tale or movie or TV kinda thing wherein there are set notions about what romance should look like (trip and catch, awkward eye-locks, non-stop wooing) - it comes in all forms and ways. Karan's not bold or forward, I think even without his issues he would have been more of an introvert. Naina, on the other hand, is quite confident and does know what she wants. I'd expect these two to be more subtle with showing affections, at least Karan to be, which doesn't mean their feelings will be less - many a times, subtle's what touches souls. I'd expect Naina to help him be more comfortable in his skin, to come out of his shell from time to time. They'd be balanced out due to their different personalities and could have their own ways of doing things.

On that note - am really annoyed with the family, tbh 😆 I don't get why Nirmala and Dadu get so shocked to see Karan not participating willingly in certain rasms or, like today, upon hearing that he wasn't going to Boondi. Like, what the hell? 😆 You do know that boy, don't you? Why do I feel like they are treating this marriage the way they did his illness - insensitively? If someone would just try to talk to him, try to help him become more and more comfortable with this relationship, bit for bit... but no, they leave him to his own devices, thinking that somehow, things will get better on their own 😵

Oh, and I'd love it if Karan goes to Boondi on his own (though, of course, he wouldn't admit it) 😆

I think Naina can't help it. Logically she knows that it's too early to expect anything from Karan and most of the time she reacts accordingly. Its just sometimes, especially when she sees MeghNal that she wishes for a little more. Its quite human actually. But its been one day. One. Thoda to aur time do bechare Karan ko. 😆 Also, I think she went in taking this as an arranged marriage where they would start of on a neutral footing. Except that didn't happen. So she soesnot know what to expect now.

About their love story, I completely concur. I think it is going to be this way only. Karan's issues are too deeply entrenched for them to have a conventional romance. Naina's ideas about romance might be movie types right now but she will realise that love is not only that. She will fall in love with Karan as a person, despite his flaws and insecurities and he will inturn love her despite his better judgement. And that kind of love can be really deep and intense as well.

About the family, they are hopeless. I felt that way with Nirmala also yesterday, Do you not know Karan at all??? Matlab kuch bhi. He didn't want this marriage. Why is everybody expecting ki he will be all hunky dory? 🥱

Yes, hence why I believe that at one point, a little comparison might come up between Karan and Kunal in this regard 😆 Logically seen, I know that Naina can't help it, at times, and it's not wrong, at all. I am probably just too practical a person, sometimes 🤣

I'd really enjoy watching that, Sona! 😆 Karan's even told her that he thinks those romantic thins shown in movies are stupid 🤣 I guess it's simply because Naina's still... well, she is mature for her age and especially mature in regards to handling her situation, right now, but there's still something in her... It'll be a part of her journey, of maturing more and growing. She'll come to love him the way he is - and he'll do the same 😉

Yes, Nirmala the other day, seriously 😆 I guess Karan's situation is a lil more touching to me because I've seen these things close by- guys being pressurized or tried to be pressurized into marrying someone and then, being expected to be happy and fullfill that relationship in the best way possible 🥱 The situation's not a happy one, neither for the husband nor for the wife. Sometimes, it works out. Others, it just leaves both damaged.

She is mature, that's why she started off thinking of friendship. But her ideas of romance are definitely influenced. Remember Karan said he wanted a place where two people could sit and talk comfortably during the date planning? And she said people can't talk in this atmosphere. 😆 I believe they both will find a middle path. 😉

Exactly. I mean, this is a serial and we know NaiRan will fall in love but nobody knows this in real life na. So a little more sensitivity from his family wouldn't hurt him.

Btw, I was wondering, do you think Karan's behaviour will be influenced by the fact that Meghna gets to know pf their relationship? As per segments, he knows that Meghna knows beacuse she dragged Naina away in front of him after overhearing.

Hm. Influenced how? I think he will be a bit cautious but then, he's never interacted much with Naina in front of others. Always kept that between them when they are alone. I don't think he will change much, now - but probably be more awkward around Meghna. Maybe even feel a lil bad because she heard that since he does seem to like his Bhabi 😆
