Almost a year since Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the year has graced your screen on Channel V. You have watched and loved Suvreen Guggal, essayed by Smiriti Kalra, a spunky go-getter who always has a smile on her face as she faces obstacles in the path of her ambition. Be it admission in one the most prestigious colleges in the capital New Delhi or taking up causes that are close to her heart. The latest being eve-teasing. Through the year you have watched campaigns like the Red-Chaddi which addressed the issue of appropriate dress code in a college. Be it Facebook, Hunger-strike or MMS scandal, she has raised her voice against all that she felt was an injustice by people or system. Though everything has not been smooth sailing. She fell in love and was rejected. She wanted to change her course and faced opposition and rebuke from her parents. She has been through a lot.

Supporting her are her friends, Annie, played by Vartika Chauhan, Karishma Rawat as Naro and Tultuli. played by Disha Thakur. Today, she is torn between two men. One that she loves, Yuvraj Singh, portrayed by Shivin Narang, the boy that silently supported her in her endeavors but shunned her affections and other is her idol, her teacher Rehan Charles, played by Mohit Malik who is giving her wings to showcase her talent and skills as a fashion designer. Will Yuvraj reciprocate her love or will he fall for the more sophisticated Alisha? Will Rehan be the man who she finds is best suited to her?

Smiriti Kalra gives life to Suvreen Guggal. Be it emotional scenes with her family or as a spunky protestor, Smiriti emotes with ease or so it seems. While Shivin Narang is what Yuvraj Singh is. The way he talks, the way he thinks is so like Yuvraj Singh that one would think the character was tailor made for him. Well, true is the case with both the characters. They define Suvreen and Yuvraj, real, believable. And they are.

wonderful topic, Naz!! 🤗
really well said 👏⭐️

i agree completely. though this is a youth based show, its not that far fetched or ott. its relatable to a good extent for a school/college student. not only could we as an audience relate to some things, as a student but even as a human, the feelings, the events, everything that we go through is totally relatable.

and the cast rocks completely agreed! especially smriti and shivin <3
