I don't think she's ever been so browbeaten by him that we could call her reaction Stockholm Syndrome. In this case it's just, as you put it, love as depicted on tv, an easy way of showing A is on B's mind and 'woh uske rang mein dhal gayi' kind of nonsense that makes trp audiences tear up in vicarious joy.
