I think you're right. Perhaps that's why he keeps going on about not loving Suhani, because he keeps comparing his feelings for her to his infatuation with Saumya?

I do feel bad for Yuvraj in a way though... he didn't raise himself...

yeah, he never loved Somu and he doesn't know the feeling, YET. He has to start falling for Suhani to realise the depth of that emotion.

Yes, he's a victim of his upbringing, true, but once you become an adult, it's on you to form your own opinions. It's not easy, but he's not completely blameless. As you said, I feel bad that Dadi pushed a worldview on him that almost destroyed his life. This is his second chance though, to reject that faulty worldview.
