CVs and their inconsistency!

Hi everyone! I am back on IF after nearly two months, thanks to exams.

I have been watching the show, though I could not join the discussion here. Since I am back, I wanted to point out some irritating inconsistencies in the characterisation and execution of SSEL-

Suhani's intelligence- The highly perceptive Suhani who can usually judge people very well based on their behaviour, case in point- the Abhilasha fiasco and today's episode where she inferred that her mother was not actually ill- becomes as blind as a bat when it comes to The Evil Trio. No matter how rude Dadi/Ragini are to her and how fishy they act with Soumya and Yuvraj, she is oblivious to their scheming.😲 It seems like the writers turn on/off the bulb in her head as per the convenience of the storyline in their minds.
This is annoying because I want Suhani to stand up for herself and give it back to '3 tigada kaam bigada'. This selective processing actually makes her out to be an inconsistent character, but this is how most Indian shows are, so it's not that shocking.

Unnecessary vilification of Soumya- She was never interested in Yuvraj and in fact wove an elaborate plot to ensure that Suhani and Yuvraj get married. IMO, it is in really bad taste to show her desiring her best friend- scratch that, sister's husband, for example today's salad scene, where she didn't clarify to RagMen or Yuvraj that she followed Suhani's instructions. Human beings are complex creatures, so I wouldn't have minded her contrasting Yuvraj and Krishna in her mind, but she is actually acting on these thoughts and actively trying to get into Yuvraj's good books.
This was one of my fears- that Suhani and Soumya's relationship will fall apart over Yuvraj. It is a hackneyed way of proceeding with the story by turning a trusted confidante of the protagonist into a villain. 😡
I mean, why would you entertain the thoughts of the husband of the girl who saved you from domestic violence and sheltered you in her home?

RagMen's obsession with Soumya- Seriously, why is it that they want Soumya in the house with them? Soumya is more of a threat to them than Suhani will ever be, 'cause Dadi is in love with Soumya. How does Rags Jiji think she will maintain her numero uno position with Somu in the house? They are at a privileged position,especially with Dadi because Dadi doesn't consider Suhani fit for the Birlas. So, currently they are benefiting from this power structure- why would they want Soumya, Dadi's favourite in this mix?


Anyway, these were my obsessions. What do you guys have to say?

Lovely post and I couldn't agree with u more let me start with the easiest of the stuff u mentioned being rags and menka. I also do not at all understand why they would want to keep souyma she is a huge threat to them because she is being paired with the golden grandson. Bt really these 2 are in fact dumb mean villains. Menka goes with the wind she is probably the more vicious out of the lot coz she could stab u in the back at any moment. I think for rags though if given a chance could have huge potential to be good. And I think why she feels that souyma is not a threat is coz she can match up to her be it in looks or anything else but suhani has something that neither of them truly have which is a good heart. Rags main reason for not liking suhani is that she is jealous of the way she stands up for herself against dadi and most times the old cow is at a loss at how to reply back to her. And I think she realizes that suhani if given a proper chance could change dadi with her thoughts and actions. So this is in fact a greater threat coz she does realize that beauty is fickle it can change bt a steady heart isn't. Bt the problem is that my main villains are rags and menka and not dadi and somehow with so much of screen time that dadi and souyma are giving is just changing things. Be4 rags and menka even though they where mean bt their scenes where funny and kind of entertaining and I would actually watch it bt now they totally negative and in a way even though they are shown so much something is lacking in their scenes now. Souyma- this character for me was supposed to be a diff type of grey character on screen when she was with krishna she was semi grey she was intelligent, a fighter she did the right thing in the wrong way bt still 1 couldn't totally dislike her actions. I never liked her behavior with rakhi and her mum but they kind of deserved it. But at the birla house its like what happened to suhani happened to her its like her brains abandoned her lol. Bt honestly I dnt think they are actually portraying her character incorrectly this character has always been more for herself than suhani. The reason why suhani is in this deluded position at the moment is coz of her. Souyma choose krishna over suhani and than got her married to yuvraj so that she wnt have to get married to him. She just used suhani for her betterment and her lame excuse was that suhani would win him over eventually. I seriously feel like some1 in the production house is in love with neha/souyma coz the amt of scenes she has gotten to realize her apparent love for yuvraj is ridiculous. And this has probably been the major down fall for the show in the last couple of weeks coz a certain precision and crispness was needed to be in place for her actions to make sense. They spent so much time on her scenes with yuvraj and their connection that they forgot about the connection she has with suhani. How can she not feel guilty at her feelings for yuvraj knowing that suhani is in love with him? The way she speaks to suhani, her dis-concern for her, her behavior be it with her or her family has taken a total u turn she just isn't the person she was its like she is dadi's twin lol. But I dnt like her certain r/ship a person selfishness will eventually be shown to the other person and souyma time is up with suhani coz her true colours is coming out. Their friendship has always been 1 sided suhani has given and given and never received anything back from souyma be it trust or friendship she has abused suhani's good nature and I hope that suhani gives her a tight slap for not only looking at yuvraj bt for being such a selfish friend. Suhani- this character for me I am kind of disappointed I have to say this is probably the 1st time I am watching a show and seeing the main lead being sidelined to such an extent. They not only give suhani selective intelligence but selective scenes as well and that's been this characters downfall. Suhani downfall started from that scene of yuvi and souyma in the bathroom and her laughing like an ass no normal human being would have laughed for that scene it made no sense. And most importantly which woman is not gona wonder why she and her husband haven't consumated their marriage yet especially since it was a love marriage? And yuvraj's behavior with her he is so rude to her and what's the diff btw him and krishna? Absolutely nothing bt she can clearly see the wrongness of krishna's actions but not yuvraj's. Krishna also loves souyma so why is his actions wrong and yuvraj's not. And than the way yuvraj behaves with her dad. Why is she not realizing that something more is going on there than meets the eye. And than rags and menka really its so weird hw she isn't aware that they are bad she knew this b4 marriage bt why not now. And her and dadi her initial scenes with dadi she was very strong she stood up when she needed to but also tried to win her over bt with her craziness with souyma somehow her attempt to win dadi over was forgotten. She no longer is the same girl with her any more I feel like a lack of confidence has been coming out since souyma has been staying with her. Bt I think with the track moving forward and her finding out the truth her intelligence is back.

I think there will be a new page in Suhani and Ragini's relationship post the Great Revelation. CVs already hinted towards it by having Saurabh mention Ragini's model mania to Suhani a few days back. Ragini's hatred towards Suhani will probably abate once Suhani helps her live her dream by convincing Dadi. I totally agree. What is amazing is that she has been given this second chance at life all because of Suhani, however, she is not at all thankful/grateful to Suhani for being her only anchor during this whole ordeal. Her behaviour reeks of entitlement and now she has even started resenting Suhani for being married to Yuvraj. Hello?!! You were the one who came up with the whole YuvAni marriage scheme. 👏👏Exactly. The girl who can judge people and their motives through minute behavioural changes is unable to gauge Yuvraj's obvious disinterest in a romantic relationship with her. Haha. You are so right. What is her idea of marriage? Does she think people play ludo with each other after marriage? It's not like they've both decided to take it slow, but rather that there is no discussion of it. I agree with you wholeheartedly on Krishna and Yuvraj. If Krishna's behaviour isn't acceptable then why is Yuvraj's behaviour acceptable? Yuvraj had an extreme reaction of anger after Pratima fell ill. Moreover, he is generally quite irascible and rude to her. Is that not emotionally abusive in her book? It seems like her naarebazi is reserved for Somu and everyone else but not applicable to her own life. Why doesn't she confront Yuvraj for his behaviour? And than rags and menka really its so weird hw she isn't aware that they are bad she knew this b4 marriage bt why not now. I think the CVs are building up her trusting nature to a crescendo so that once all the drama happens and the dust settles, she comes out a different Suhani. The girl who is living in a bubble will come crashing down to terra firma and realise that the love she has so cherished was all an illusion. That will probably be when the Evil Trio turns Soumya and Yuvraj against her. I am close to 100% sure that Suhani will try to unite Soumya and Yuvraj and will sacrifice her marriage for their happiness. It's probably after this that Yuvraj will realise he loves her.
