Personal Life:

Ankita Lokhande,( born as Tanuja Lokhande) was born on 19^th December, 1986 into a Maharashrian family residing in Indore. She has finished her schooling and college from Indore itself. Her father is a businessman and mother is a housewife. She is brother and is elder of the two siblings. Growing up Ankita always aspired to be an actress but had to let go of her dreams and was just about to join Frankfinn academy but as her luck would have it she was chosen as a participant from her state indore. When she decided to take acting as career her parents were quite reluctant but she succeeded in convincing them and later started getting support from them. She moved to Mumbai in year 2005 but she got big break only in June 2009 in Pavitra Rishta. Ankita is affianced to her previous Pavitra Rishta co-star Sushant Singh Rajput.

Early Career:

Ankita got an opportunity to show her talent on Zee cine superstar ki khoj in the year 2006 where she was chosen as one of the participants from Indore. She won many accolades for her acting from judge's Satish kaushik and Mahesh manjerekar but was eliminated after reaching the top 5. However...she did not leave empty handed, she was awarded the title of Best dancer on the show. After ZSKK Ankita took up modeling as a career path, a diversion from acting. Since her main interest lay in acting she pursued modeling as an alternate career path as she was waiting for a better platform to display her acting abilities. She eventually had to struggle for 4 years before she got the opportunity to be part of Jay Mehta's 'Bali Umar Ko Salaam', on NDTV imagine but for unknown reasons the show did not go on air. This worked out in her favor however, because she soon got her big break and the opportunity to play the much acclaimed character of Archana in the popular daily soap, Pavitra Rishta... Opposite Sushant Singh Rajput (Manav).Her role in the serial garnered her not only praise but numerous awards as well. She is now a well established actor in the television industry.

Apart from Pavitra Rishta Ankita has participated in many reality shows as well.

In 2009 she performed as a celebrity contestant on the show entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega.

In the year 2010 she was offered to become part of the Dance reality show Jhalak Dhikhla ja along with her then co-star Sushant. Ankita was paired opposite choreographer Nishant bhatt.

The pair garnered praise for their performances however they were soon eliminated. To come back in the show she performed in the fire card round and was chosen as a finalist along with another celebrity pair Salman and Yana Gupta. It was unprecedented though that the judges chose both the pairs to come back into the show again and Ankita was able to carry on her journey in the same.

This turned out to be memorable for Ankita for many reasons, not only because she was able to reach the top five but also because her relationship with Sushant came out in the open, when on the valentines special of the show the later went down on one knee and proposed her on national television. Ankita accepted sayin"yes, I will marry you." Thus finally putting an end to all speculation regarding their relationship. Ankita along with Sushant were also seen as themselves on Filmi dabba party,for the very first time as an official couple.They show was hosted by Delnaz Paul.

In 2012 Ankita was invited to be a celebrity guest on Movers and shakers hosted by Shekhar Suman.
