rinky...if something about the pm settings isnt done soon,the day u get such weird pms isnt far off

well i guess I-F is becoming a copy of Yahoo messenger.... i got all weird offline mesages there....

can those people who we blocked can Pm as well??

good point...i would really like to see a block button implemented here.members who i block cant see my posts and cant pm me.same applies for search engines.google ur name and see how the web crawlers spew out personal info on u...go on,give it a try.i want to restrict my posts to specific members i interact with.can this be done?IFs is steadily turning into a stalkers paradise

actually if my memory serves me right,

Livejournal gives the option of NOT disclosing any post to the google webcrawlers...

if they are gonna implement blog as a feature, it is necessary..and it wud be awesome if it could eb extended to posts as well

i guess the stalking part is the most alluring thing about I-F......

and blocking members restricts a lot of stuffs in orkut and yahoo..... hope they do the same in I-F....

there was no necessity of turning I-F into a social networking site....we alreday have so many like orkut, facebook, twitter, ibibo..... why I-F too??

and yes i do know about web crawlers..... i have tried it....

Oh i agree a LOT. I think it's plain creepy to watch people stalk every single one of your posts especially newbies. I don't mean to offend newbies but most of this happens with Newbies who decide to PM you such things.

yes i think the My post button is not necessary. Even if it is. It should be for our eyes only. We should have an option to keep things private or not. =)

Well I too got this PM yesterday but since I already knew the content of it (because some of my friends received the same PM from the same person earlier on), I deleted it straight away without even reading it. Last week I got PMs from a total stranger asking me How I was? It was not some person I'd known or interacted with earlier :S n this person kept spamming for a while by sending me PMs although I'd delete his PMs right away and not respond to him. Security on I-F has become a HUGE ISSUE , I agree this is an open forum but as far as I know, its a forum open for DISCUSSIONS, not privacy breaches I suppose? Anyhow, it would be great IF security is improved on I-F since too much liberty is being misused by some people, making things difficult for others.
