RESHMA ...this idea is GREAT.
well...actually there is no perfect yes or a perfect no to his question. it depends on several factors.

The fear of dying is more painful than the actual death. The ppl around suffer more than the victim. They die a million times before the actual death. All of us would love to die with dignity. But sucide is also a crime.

I would be for Mercy killing if the death is eluding them every now and then like playing hide and seek if....
1)The victim is ready for it...mentally also.
2)If there is absolutely no hope left.
3)If the near and dear ones of the victim are fully ready for it (ofcourse! practically).

I am not for Mercy killing if
1)the victim is not a fighter and wants a easy way out.
2)if anyone has some evil intention for any gains or so.

whatever said and done i feel death should be in the hands of the creator...the destiny else all of us would try to be Gods...

mercy killing is something which has been an eternal question mark since time immemorial...

"the fear of death is more painful than death itself" - very well said pari...and so true...and even the part about the people around the victim...and the kind of situations where the dilemma of mercy killing arises also makes you think - what must the patient be feeling? does it not affect him to see his family and friends dying a million deaths when death itself is evading him?

there are two sides to the argument - each one as convincing as the other...some would say that to end a life is not our decision...we should not try to be God and decide who is to live and who is not - whatever the grounds may be...on the other hand there are also the ones who would say that it may not be in our hands to decide to end a life, but we cannot simply stand aside and watch a life just wither away with no conclusion in sight - taking the lives of his beloved with him...is that the justice God created? to watch an entire family perish, just waiting for the suffering to be relieved?

this is one debate which has been raging on for ages...and we may perhaps never find a definite answer, but yes, for me - like pari - mercy killing is justified on some grounds and not justified on others...and i would state the same grounds for each as pari did...

my debate stand easier......for me mercy killing is justified in no way at all....i call it inhumna....stupid...and simple words like aryan said....its a cold-blooded murder......!!!!!!!!!
mercy killin is a crime in our country....thats what makes me go against it first.....
also...we talk about the physical sufferin bein too intense......lemme state an example....i dont want to use kuljaat's case...but say...a woman...in a remote village area is raped.....she has no way to survive....and the emotionl and metal trauma would be so much....that she wouldnt live any wayu....so she decides to suicide......would u justify that????no!!!!!!!!1 suicide is a huge crime in the country...and the person is punished if he survives...obviously......when a sick person demands mercy killin.....his state of ind is such that he wants to die...wants to let go....and thats the worst crime ....the worst feelin in the world.....sometimes.....mental traumas are gr8er than physical ones....so if ur gonna call a person who wished to die coz of mental trauma a suicide...i will say the same for a person....who wants to die....coz he cant stand the physical trauma.....now is tht a dignified death????????
besides lets not forget this kind of killin can also be taken advantage of if legalised.....
all i wanna say is...i dint chopose to be born...i dint choose to be a woman...i dint choose to b a mallu born in a middle class family.....i dint choose to be an indian....some things in life cant be taken in our hands....they escape definition......so i kno i have no right to choose to die!!!!
in the end i would say....hope is the last thing that we lose...lets not lose that ppl....whatever be the situation!!!!!!!!!

mercy killing .................
one can say that it is a way to escape the world with easy way as all dont have dare to kill themselves.may be people who have some kind of a fear or a weak dellima may use it.
but it is not that it should be allowed as people may use it as a weapon to hide their crimes.

well resh u r rite dat mercy killin is illegal in india.so in dat case obviously i wudnt give in 2 dat.but i dont agree wid u 4 once.
i m not sayin dat i think mercy killin is a rite decision, but i think d reason behind it is d one which decides whether it shud b done or not.
wat i think is mercy killin shud b allowed 2 practice ven such a situation arises dat dre s no hope of d person living.
like if a person is in d last stage of cancer, instead of dyin everyday,he cud just give in 2 mercy killin(well u can also call it suicide).

Mercy Killing should be doen only in the case of people who are really suffering, I read about this family who's barely making ends meet becaus eall of them have some kind of ailment due to which they can't work, and none of them can survive, it's so painful for the peopel around them, I took a look at their photos they were in terrible shape, bad is not the word for it. These are the kind of peopel who need to be set free, they can't be a burden to their family, surely not, if they love them ,then maybe death will be more peaceful ratehr than seeing them suffer all the time. ALso, I feel that the SS mercy killing case was not
well-crafted, they missed a few crucial points, they didn't discuss any issue pertaining to he other side of mercy killing, there was no difference of views really, otherwise there's always a difference of opinion, like Shai always differed with Aryan, a lot of times, also with Ajay and SHotgun, also Ajay, Boxer v/s Shotgun which used to happen, the other side to Mercy Killing was nto discussed very well, it could probably be because it is an investigative show.

hmmmm....maybe.....but i donno why.....i never found any flaw in the show....coz i can never understand ppl who justify mercy killin...in whatever ways...its like justifyin abortion....murder or suicide.....which is soooo wrong!!!! i have always been against euthanasia....and thts why i was even more proud of the ss team when i saw their strong opposition towards it,....and tht there was no difference in it.... 👏

Yeah and it depends on your perspective really, I somehow think that some of the latter episodes of SS were a bit too lacklustre and some of it had soem gaping loopholes. Like the next one, where Ajay and Neha break up, Ajay is let off without even being tried only because the real killer is caught, I mean what happened to being punished for attackking someone like that?
