Short cut for Akangsha

Telly actress Akangsha would have been bald today if SaharaOne had its way, Rawat aka Shagun of Solhah Singaarr is heaving a sigh of relief that she has hair left on her head.

Last week, SaharaOne demanded that Akangsha shave off her head for an upcoming track portraying her as a widow. Akangsha's requests that she be allowed to wear a wig fell on deaf ears.

After long and heated arguments, the channel relented and Akanksha was sent for a short haircut at Benny (Juhu), her regular hair salon.

When contacted, Akangsha says, "Yes, they wanted me to go bald. Since the story is based in ancient Benaras where a woman had to shave her head after her husband's death. So, I understand their view point."

"They gave me various examples of actors who had gone bald for their roles- like Kulbhushan Kharbanda (Shaan), Shabana Azmi (Water) to convince me, but I did not give up.

Thank heavens, I could settle for the short hair look. My new hairstyle reminds me of my childhood days when I was a tomboy sporting short hair. But I don't think I will need a long time to look the same again," she adds.

So how did she convince SaharaOne to change their stance? "I told them television serials often change the track and what if they want me to have long hair soon? How will I don a wig on a bald head?" says the actress.

Solhah Sinngaarr is Akangsha's first TV serial. She has also done commercials like Britania Marie Gold, Dabar Chavanprash (with Amitabh Bachchan), Archies, Horlicks and Davat Basmati Rice.

wow she is a very dedicated person athwise why would she cut her hair and she would have looked horribel if she would have went bald 😆 thnx for the article and i cant belive thats not a wig it looks like awig

Shabana Aazmi was not in Water..good thing she did not fall for the stupid idea of going bald ..as it is short hair cut does not look too impressive on her..so i wonder how would she be able to carry bald head..but she def has to be very dedicated to do all this..

oh wow...why would they not allow her to wear a wig 😕 ...they should have told her ahead ...also when alak was widowed she did not need anything like this done..
