Meera is sitting in her bed waiting for her husband, Sumer when her brother-in-law, Shakti comes inside the room and goes and sits near the foot of the bed. He keeps his hand on Meera's foot and when Meera withdraws it, he tells her that he is the only person in the house who is sympathetic towards her and that he found the behaviour of others in the household pretty obnoxious. He also tells her provocatively that he likes her progressive ideas a lot, especially the one of getting her Mother married to his brother-in-law and that he will always be there to help her. He sits on the bed and said that since Sumer Bhaiyya is not in the room, Meera must be feeling very lonely and that if Meera wishes, they could become close friends. He keeps his hand on Meera's hand and Meera snatches her hand away. He turns away from Meera and tells her that he doesn't like forced relationships at all and cares only for relationships that binds one heart with another. He then leaves the room and Meera starts crying.
After a while, Meera starts removing her dupatta, her necklace, bangles, gajra, etc. and it is shown that her husband, Sumer is gifting all these things to a dancer. Meera lies down on her bed and thinks if this is how a relationship between a husband and a wife progresses. She then falls asleep. She wakes up the next morning to find a comforter covering her and Sumer sleeping beside her. She is surprised. She then goes down to the Puja room and offers arati to the deities of Lord Krishna and Radha and sings a ditty in the Lord's name. Her father in law is happy but her m-i-l regards this as an attempt to win her over and states to herself that whatever happens, she will not let Meera win her affection. Sumer's sister is doing aerobics and she is pretty irritated with Meera's bhajan, so is Damini, her sister-in-law. After the pooja is over, Meera gives Prasad to his f-i-l and tells that she will distribute the remaining Prasad to others in the household. Her f-i-l says that there is nobody in the house to understand the significance of Prasad and that after many years, he has heard the holy chantings in the house after his Mother died. After he goes away, Damini comes and takes away the pooja ki thali from Meera and tells her that she will distribute the Prasad. Meera lets her take the thali but picks up a flower and some Prasad for Sumer.
She goes to the room to find Sumer still sleeping and calls him. He wakes up and smiles at Meera. Seeing that Meera has brought Prasad, he extends his hand, and Meera sees a gajra tied around his wrist and she is shocked. She asks Sumer where he had been the previous night. Before he could answer, Tribeni walks in and asks Sumer to get ready for going to Office. She then tells Meera that their house doesn't have a culture where a wife could question her husband and that she should stay within her rights only. If too much inquisitiveness drives away Sumer to somebody else, then Meera would just have herself to blame. Meera is left dumb founded and with tears in her eyes.
Ammaji calls Suli and asks her to take stuff to Meera's in-laws place to invite the pair for the pagphera rasam and also invite them to Shan and Alaka's wedding. Suli regrets her inability to do such a thing, especially on the very next day of the marriage when Shan comes and says that he will go to Meera's in-laws place and invite them for the pagphera rasam and also for his marriage. At that moment, Ira comes and tells them that she would go to Meera's in-laws place and do the needful. Ammaji and Shan goes away when Ira tells Suli that she had agreed to the proposal considering the situation and that she would try to ensure that Shan and Alaka never got married.
Back at Meera's in laws place, a friend of Tribeni called Sumitra comes to meet her andcongratulates her on getting Sumer married. Tribeni tells Sumitra about everything when Sumitra says that these situations can very well be handled by Tribeni. After all, she acts to love Sumer so much in front of others when in reality she is his stepmother. Tribeni agrees and says that she was very happy on that day when she found out that there is a clause in Sumer's horoscope that he would die very soon, and this would be hampered only if somebody good came along. Since Meera is there, she has somehow become the armour for Sumer and that for Sumer to die, Tribeni has to send Meera away to her house, by hook or by crook. It was she who had introduced Sumer to many wrong things in life and that Sumer would always listen to what she said. After Sumer's death, all the property would go to her children.
Note : Seriously guys, I am considering giving up on SS. Here was a good serial with a different storyline and now they have reduced it to a saas-bahu serial again, with the same storyline and negativity. I think I can do without them.
