Abhi opens the door to Alaka's room in which Meera had been locked inside by Alaka before leaving the house for her purification process. Abhi tells her that Alaka had already left and Meera breaks down crying. Ammaji is shown sitting in the Hall with their Kulpurohit who questions her as to how she could pass such a difficult judgement for Alaka. Ammaji tells him that it was essential since its due to Alaka that the Bharadwaj family's prestige and name has been reduced to dust and today, for the first time, some outsider had come inside the Bharadwaj House and questioned her about the validity and truth behind her justice.
Ira and her hubby Rajshekhar (from now onwards its Raj) are sitting in their room when Shan calls Raj and tells him that he would be confined in Allahabad for another day since a yagna has to be performed to retsrat the entire procedure. He asks Raj whether everybody in the House is fine. Raj falters a little and at that moment Meera comes in and asks Raj whether he has any other phone number of Shan since she wanted to talk to him urgently. Before Raj is able to answer, Ira tells Meera that they do not have any other no. of Shan and that if he calls, they would call Meera to speak to him. Meera goes away dejectedly. Raj questions Ira why she lied to Meera but Ira tells him that what she had done is for the welfare of the family and at this moment, its better that Shan stays away from Benaras. She goes away but Raj is highly irritated.
Meera goes to Ammaji and asks for her permission to visit her Mom. Ammaji tells her that as a daughter its her right to ask for permission to go to her Mother, but as the head of the house she has the right to allow or disallow. Since she had decided that Alaka's purification process would be overseen by Maharaj Chaubey and his pandits, no member of the Bharadwaj House would be present there and as per her order, Meera should not also go there. After Ammaji leaves, Meera says that since the love of a daughter for her mother is much more, she refuses to follow Ammaji's diktats and decides to go to the temple where Alaka is. Shlok hears what she says and smiles sadly.
At the temple, Alaka's purification has started and she stands on one leg, with her hands folded above her head in the beating sun. Chaubey Maharaj thinks it will be difficult for the bahu of the Bharadwaj family to follow all the rules. Meera runs the entire way to the temple and when she reaches the spot, she calls out for her Mom. Alaka is also a bit distracted but she continues with her penance. She now lays down on the ground and circles the entire temple. Meera requests Chaubey Maharaj to let go her Mother since sha had not done anything but he doesn't pay any heed to her request.
Ammaji, Raj, Ira and Suli have sat down for breakfast when Ira broaches the topic of Alaka's misconduct which was having wrong effects on the children in the house. she points out to Ammaji that Meera had refused to come down for food. Ammaji tells Ira that whatever Meera is doing is for her love for her Mother and it should not be confused with indolence or bad behaviour. She decides to go to Meera's room to call her down. Shlok overhears AMmaji's conversation and is shocked since Meera is not in the room. He calls Abhi who tells him to stop Ammaji at any cost to reach Meera's room. But Ammaji goes to meera's room and finds somebody sleeping. She wonders why Meera was still sleeping.
At the Bharadwaj House, Gauri calls her Father to tell him about the proceedings but before she can say anything, Ammaji comes and disconnects the phone line. She also tells Gauri that from now on, no one in the Bharadwaj House will use a phone without permission. Shlok comes in and tells Ammaji that Meera has gone off to sleep since she has a temperature. Gauri tells him that she had been able to contact her Father. Shlok is sad and tells Gauri that Ammaji was going to Meera's room to call her down for breakfast but he had averted Ammaji's intentions. Gauri tells him that she is only bothered about Alaka (Badi Ma) and not Meera.
Receiving Gauri's call, Shan is worried and feels that something wrong must have happened and maybe Alaka was involved. He is very restless.
