Meera and the other girls who had all performed the Katyaani Puja had sat down to wat in the hall. As Meera was about to put food inside her mouth, she remembered that she had kept the fast and performed the Puja in lieu of Alaka's happiness and future, as a proxy, so the first bite of food should also be eaten by Alaka. She takes her dish to Alaka's room who was counting the beads of her holy tulsi mala.
Alaka is surprised to find Meera sitting in front of her and on enquiry, Meera tells her that she had come to her room to share food with her Mother. Alaka tells her that Meera had fasted for her future and her future husband and so she should eat the food. Meera tells her that there is nothing separate between them so both of them will eat from the same plate. Alaka agrees to her whim and both of them eat together.
Shan is at the top of the stairs when he overhears Alaka asking Shlok to bring some Ganga water to her since she had not offered any water to the tulsi plant in their courtyard. Shan is scandalized since he remembered that he had told a lot of things related to his heart to the woman figure in front of the same tulsi tree earlier in the day. He is trying to find out the real identity of the person when he again sees Shlok telling Alaka that Meera was becoming very forgetful and was leaving back her belongings anywhere she wanted to. For instance, she had taken a white saree from Alaka but had left it behind in another room. Shan puts two and two together and realizes that it was Meera in the courtyard in front of her, he had acknowledged that he still loved ALaka. Shan is very angry at Meera saying that this amounted to telling lies.
Ammaji asks the Kulpurohit that they want Meera to get married soon and asks the purohit to find out an auspicious time for the same. The Panditji tells them that the presently continuing 3 months was very lucky and auspicious, to be followed by another 3 months, when the period would not be too auspicious. Ammaji asks the Kulpurohit to search for a groom for Meera and said that they would get her married pretty soon. Abhi hears all this and is not at all happy.
Gauri is in her room trying very hard to read a Hindi poem that Abhi had written for her. After reading a few lines, she thinks about the times she had spent with Abhi, and later on says that if Abhi keeps on giving her such poems written in Hindi, she would surely make it a point to learn Hindi properly. Abhi comes into the room and Gauri starts talking to him. While discussing matters of heart, she tells Abhi to look straight into the eyes of the girl he loves and say the same to her. Then only ABhi's problems would go away. She is actually thinking that Abhi would come and propose to her.
A furious Shan comes across Subhadra and tells her that Meera has lied to him. Subhadra tries to explain that that was not the case, in fact what he was terming as lie, was in fact her love for her Mother. As Shan goes away, Subhadra further says that it is for this love that Meera had kept the fast and followed every ritual truthfully and with conviction. As she utters all this, Alaka overhears everything and she is also very angry with Meera.
Meera is speaking to Lord Krishna that she was happy that her plan was working wonderfully and thanks God. At that moment, Shan comes there and scolds Meera for lying to him. Meera tells him that at least the words that were inside his heart had come out and now it was Alaka's turn to do so. Shan tells Meera that why was she doing all these, would she be able to fight against the society, the age-old values and customs, the strong beliefs of her family members and finally Ammaji. Meera replies in the affirmative and asks a question to Shan in turn, that if she was able to do all these things, would he marry Alaka? After thinking for a while, Shan replies YES but says that his answer was completely dependent on Alaka's answer and he knew that that would always be a firm NO.
As Shan goes away, Meera turns towards Lord Krishna and tells him that she is doing all these to help her Mom. This time Alaka comes along and scolds her very badly. Meera however doesn't get depressed but tells Alaka about Shan's answer. She runs away from the spot and goes to Shan's room and asks him not to forget that the Alak he knew had died 20 years ago and the Alaka now standing in front of him was actually his dead brother's widow. She then goes away leaving behind a dazed Shan standing all alone in his room. đ
