I will stick today's analysis with Mother. Yesterday also I talked about the mother aspect when Uma came for Sita. Duty of the mothers. Knowledge the mother's should have.
And if you today Shabari embodied everything. To make her child see the path of his duty she used everything Saam, daan , dandh, bedh.
Ram says a beautiful sentence in the end. That losing the way was actually a way to meet her. I would like to take it in a different way.
Whenever a child is travelling in a wrong path who brings the child back on the right path. Mother or mother equivalent. It is the nurturing ability that exist within a human or Matru Bhav that can show the light using love and compassion.
Look at Ram's condition. In his grief he is completely lost. It is a mad search. Without food, without water, without rest. If Sita has to be reached, if Sita has to be liberated Ram has to be strong both physically and emotionally to wage the battle. Adequate rest, food and water are essential for him to complete this journey.
Shabari the mother brings Ram to this realization. First she invites him with love. He politely refuses. Then she talks about what Rishi Matang has told that she will be liberated when she sees him. It doesn't cut ice. Then she talks about duty. That also yields no result. Finally she talks about her status and because of that she says maybe Ram doesn't want to come. She had trusted him he wont treat her like that, but it is her fate. And this tantrum finally reaches Ram. He understands in his personal grief he cannot forget the surrounding. He cannot walk away without fulfilling his duties. He goes to her ashram. Eat those berries tasted by her as she has given them to him with love. If we see after Shabari's ashram we see Ram more calm, composed and focused. Mother brings her child towards the right path.
I really want to say SKR CVs have spend really great time on sketching the role of a mother. The all encompassing loving force.
