It was the most profound dialogue of the episode today. And along with that there is another dialogue some are made of iron, some are made of gold. We need to understand one thing, as we go up in life, as wealth and power come to us unknowingly many chains are also coming to us. Chains of responsibility. It is one of the most unseen chain every human has. We have to be responsible in our actions. Because if we dont become responsible the way wealth and power came, it can go also.
Yes Queens have gold ornaments and fine dresses. But what about their life. Can they move about freely like a peasant's wife. Unfortunately no. They have to maintain public decorum.

Just think about yourself. As a child how free you were. But as a woman are you free. Or as a man are you free. You have duties towards multiple responsibilities. You are a professional, wife ,mother same with a man he is a professional, husband, father. Can he or she break of this chains. No we have to do our duty towards these bandhans.

And if we accept these chains or bandhan's with love and freewill it will be easy for us. But the chains of fear, inaction are the ones that needs to be broken. They should not be tolerated at any cost.
Even while wearing gold, you can face oppression. Shanta, Kausalya who were forced to do the bidding of Sanskriti in the name of tradition. The forceful bandhan patriarichy keeps on women and adding insult to injury calls them Devi.

How many of you realize the chains that needs to be broken and the chains that needs to be accepted. Not many. In wealth and power you dont see the chains because you want the physical comforts. But then at some point the physical comforts cannot emotionally satisfy you and all hell will break lose.

Wondeful post, di! Yes, people, especially royalty or leaders, have multiple chains of responsibility, and those weigh down on the person. But if they accept their responsibilities with love and devotion towards God, the heavy responsibilities seem like flowers. An example of this in the Ramayan is when Kaikeyi tells Ram about Dasharath's boons. At that time, the duties of being a son, brother, heir, and husband weighed down on him. But, he bore it all with a smile, and fulfilled all of his duties. That is divinity. Accepting all evil, and turning it into good with your love. Thanks for the post, di!

Chain need to be broken and should be accepted
It connects me to free will but not derilication of duty post by u
With power comes responsibility and with fulfilling it comes contentment
Real happiness is not what meets the eye
Easy come easy go we need to work hard to make it stay not that u should not enjoy the fruits of hardwork
Am I right Di correct me if not

Shruthi di, Today we had some beautiful dialogues, Ravan Sita convo nd then Sita's dialogues in the Ashok vatika
But I was thinking that if at all u make a post then u will choose this dialogue only ...
As I remember u had written somewhere that u wanted to see the equation btw Surpi nd Sita ...

The contrast btw Ram nd Ravan has been shown beautifully in this series, but it is not something new, many times Ram Ravan contrasts are shown in TV but SKR today successfully showed the comparison btw Sita and Surpi, Sulo, mandodari ...

Captivity and protection have a very thin line.. With Ram, Sita was under protection but with Ravan she is in captivity...
Sita is his enemy's wife so he will chain her, but what about Surpi.. she is his sister yet he nd Kaykesi have held her captive.. Though she has to be controlled but if Kaykesi doesn't control Ravan, stop him from kidnapping someone's wife, in turn encourages him to forcefully marry her , then why she stopped Surpi that day... Same with Ravan.. it's his Lanka , and all have to adhere to him ... in short all are held captive.. be it sulo, mando, or Sita ... even Meghnad nd Vibhishan

Irony is that Sita can't move around in chains but she freely speaks about what she feels about Ravan
Whereas Sulo though is free to move, but her thoughts are not free, she can speak freely to her husband but not Ravan..

Thanks aditi for beautifully adding to my post and also for guessing this will be the line I will take. That line was so so beautiful. You said it right, even in chain Sita's thoughts were free, even while moving surpi and sulochana couldnt express their thoughts. Surpi still expresses, but sulo she is tied.
Gowri yes. If we accept responsiblity with a smile we will not feel it as a chain.
@sanju do you know why you are thinking of dhritharastra, because he never accepted the chains of being a king, he only accepted the chains of being a father. Without accepting the chains of responsibility he sat in the throne and exercised his authority.

@aditi you know what keeps me going. It is actually people like you. Even when I feel tired and think not posting, I know atleast 5-10 people are waiting to read my post. It is a chain, but a chain which I have chosen willingly 😃

Love your post :) I adore her strength and how she refuses to bend to Ravan's wishes. Now, Ravan got an excuse to follow through on his obsession with Sita - his own mother has given the okay. Is that not a chain that he is wearing willingly? Walking into the face of death?

Also want to really merit the 2 tears that she shed at the very tail end of the episode. Honestly feel as though she resonated with me. She is so strong and unyielding in the face of danger and death, but when that's gone, she cries because of her own crushed soul. Isn't it fascinating? I feel like those 2 years symbolize that honestly, we can take whatever life throws at us when it comes to ourselves, but when it comes to our loved ones, we crumble. Very beautifully done!

Yes, Ravan chose his death willingly. Yes when she was alone, in a place where she felt calm her memories came, memories of Ram and that broke her.
