This new promo has me really confused. 🥱 Can someone tell me the actual timeline of the Bhadrakali story? Because I think I read in Devdutt Pattanaik's book, that first Ram kills Ravan, then Vibhishan's coronation takes place, then Sita's agnipariksha happens, and THEN Sita turns to Bhadrakali to kill Sahastra Ravan. Why does this promo show it right after Ravan's death? 🤔

The Bhadrakali story is not from Valmiki Ramayana, so I have no idea where it's supposed to come in whatever version it's from.

But yes, I do think it's supposed to come after the Agnipariksha.

If Ravan dies beforehand, what is the whole point of Sahasra Ravan turning up afterwards? As if Sahasra Ravan is supposed to be the new saviour of Lanka or something...
The way I understand it - Considering Ravan is Trilokadhipati, if anything, Sahasra Ravan should've happened just before Ravan vadh (something like an epic battle in Ashok Vatika).

But, after Ravan's death, I really don't see the point of Sahasra Ravan turning up...like why?

And, if Sita can take Bhadra Kali form for this purpose, surely Ram can also appear as Maha Vishnu and do the needful.

Or, is it that Sahasra Ravan had to be slayed only by an aspect of Shakti?

Like I said, I do have an open mind about this - but I really don't understand why AFTER Ravan's death considering Ravan's power and who he was...

The version which has the Sahasra Ravan story does not even have Sita killing him. In that version, Goddess Parvathi herself comes in the form of Bhadrakali and kills him. Sita has nothing to do with it.

Once again, Sita cannot turn into Bhadrakali, as it's an incarnation created from the power of Shiva and Parvathi.

Sita is definitely a form of Adishakti, but she is not a form of Bhadrakali.

Anything Kali-related belongs to Goddess Parvathi.

As for Ram, if they show that he's not able to kill Sahasra Ravan, it's the biggest insult to his character, because Ram is Maha Kaal himself. If Sita is able to kill him, so is Ram, so I don't know how they're going to show this story without insulting Ram.

Lord Vishnu and Goddess Parvathi, as the divine siblings, are Maha Kaal and Maha Kali respectively. Goddess Sita, as Mahalakshmi, was never destructive in any of her leelas. She was kind, compassionate, and patient. She never even cursed Ravan, though she had the power to, because she wanted her Lord to kill him.

Srimad Ramayana, which is the authoritative text on Ramayana, does not provide with exact number.

The Sundara Kanda, the 5th Kanda of Ramayana describes the sleeping Ravana surrounded by many women belonging to various sects, viz., Naga, devas, gandharvas, etc.

The warrior among Vanaras saw a thousand of women decorated by jewellery with a nature of talking about beauty, conversing about the correct meaning of songs being sung, behaving according to time and place, wont to speak appropriate words, indulged in sleep after sexual dalliance.

|| --
|

There in that Ravana's house, some women had fair and white complexion some best women were black, some women had a body of golden complexion.

The strong Hanuma observing girls from devas, gandharvas and girls from nagas did not see Janaki.
