Before I talk about today's episode...I would like to add some points about yesterday's too. Janhavi I too love the song .When Jatayu mentioned Ravan, Ram's expression seemed to be a contemplative one and also as if he was thinking "now we are getting there". One more loop opened with Jatayu telling the brothers about Ravan, that would close with his telling them about Sita's kidnapping by Ravan . Lakshman 's pride about Raghuvanshi's being unbeaten does take a slightly battering when he loses to Luv-Kush.
As for today ,you were right Shruthi, it was all about lust. Shoorpanaka is impressed by Ram's appearance as well as his valor...she says that he is the man who deserves to be hers. Her arrogance is her downfall. She represents those humans who want to reach god without subduing their ego or their extreme self-pride. But they often forget that God is not a prize that one can win or someone one wishes to have to satisfy one's desires. He comes to us only if we love him unconditionally and surrender ourselves completely. Shabri's devotion made Ram seek her and even eat her 'joothe ber'.How can we forget, how the lord of three worlds, one who frees us from all sort of bondages accepts being tied with a small rope because of the love Yashoda has for him? Or who accepts all the conditions laid down by his friends or even dances at the gopika's call. Shoorpanaka states that she would not leave the place because of her love for him...what she doesn't know is that He had come to Mithila perhaps compelled by Sita's unacknowledged feelings for him, gave a test to win her hand. This is where she would lose...Sita accepts her love and has completely surrendered to him. For her he is her world, he in turn, has accepted it with his whole heart and reciprocates it fully. Shoorpanaka lost in her own beauty and power can never reach him...
I loved it when she says that destiny had brought her to that place...she does not even comprehend that it was indeed destiny and His will!
Jayanth makes an entry and promptly falls for Sita's beauty...I loved her indulgent expression at his declaration of his feelings{it was more I know you and you have not recogonized me smile}that transforms into an ironic one when he with lots of pride boasts about taking her on a ride to heaven...here she doesn't see him as a threat, so she is still calm .
It was a lighter version as compared to shoorpanaka's darker feelings...so that is why their punishment is also diverse.
Vaali's fight with Mayavi is also about lust ...a lust that feeds his ego,a lust that completely destroys his rational mind and this leads to his own death.
One more thing Shoorpanaka tells that asur that it is his good fortune to be killed by Ram and in the future she would see her brothers killed by Ram...A loop closed.
