She sat in disarray. Her robes and finery in a mess.

Her thoughts were in a turmoil. Betrayed betrayed betrayed, the hunchbacks words screamed inside her head.

Ram ram ram her soul cried.

Bharath, king, dasi, outcast,

she fed the dormant evil within..

The devil awakened.

It rubbed its hand in glee.

Oh yes.. for all the mothers Ram leaving for vanvaas is heart wrenching. Kaikeyi is triumphant.. her triumph does not vanish even when king Dasharath dies for she awaits her son Bharath to return and take over Ayodhya. Her calmness in telling him all that happened and asking him to restrain his grief and take over the thrne is just amazing to believe. And then comes the fall.. Bharath s anger, grief and most of all his dedication to his brother, the regret he has for being kaikeyi's son.. what a great fall!!!

How much the fortune went back and forth in a matter of hours and days.. Kaikeyi and Manthara's triumph turns into years of regret in a matter of days. Ramayan is just excellent in portraying the ups and down..

You should write more of this 😊 Kaikeyi's inner conflict is brought out beautifully. That momentary flaw of hers, the insecurites she gave in on that fateful night , else her love for Ram was greater than that for Bharat
