dashrath's portrayl is quite bad , but Vishwamitra's portrayal is very good , serves like a mentor and a father to both of them.

Lakshman and rama keep asking him wierd questions but he never gets angry on the 2 princes sensing their potential , but if anyone else asks him , he gets angry.

You know what the funny thing is , in the preface of the book he has written something like this only :

I am quoting him from the preface:

In book 3 also , till i have read , urmila's role is very minor , in only separation scenes of exile.

But there is literaally an encyclopedia on sumitra , it focusses maximum on her , more than kaushalya and kakeyi. She sort of gets visions of future , some funny also , like she dreams a snake entering her bedroom and eating away the twins , and that snake is actually a mutant , body of serpent and face of kakeyi.

I had read somewhere that though born a Hindu, Ashok Banker is atheist due to his estranged relation with his father! That kind of shows in his books as per the excerpts that we are getting!
