Form what we all know and we are seeing presently in this Series, Kaikeyi has immense love for Ram, infact more than her own son Bharat.. Infact she is being very vocal about it also mentioning about Kaushalya only giving Birth to Ram, but she having more maternal feelings and love for him..
It is sad that because of evil Mantara and she wanting to stay in the mahal and not been thrown out, Kaikeyi will be turning evil and will have the thought of making her son Bharat the king of Ayodhya.. She is a truly nice mother, but with Mantara feeding her wrong notions, she turns the evil mother..

Really sad that this loving mother will have a change of mind and will start plotting against her beloved son Ram.. This phase of vanvas to start soon..

Kaikeyi was not evil, she had grey shades in her character .
She is influenced by Manthara because the latter brought out her insecurites saying, if Ram became the crown prince and a king in future , the power would wrest with Kaushalya and Kaikeyi used to treat Kau with a lot of contempt because of this even king Dashratha treat Kau very badly , so what if Kau striked back and made Kaikeyi as her (Kaushalya's slave)?
And after Ram's rule his sons would takeover the kingdom so there was nothing that Bharat would get and he and his children would always remain as princes and had to depend on the king for remuneration.
Later Kaikeyi confesses to Bharata that Ram had done nothing wrong, he could never do anything wrong but she did all this to make Bharat the king
