Shruthi beautiful OS. When you started writing the OS (the ones I read before) were sweet and light. Now it is getting emotional. I wanted to comment before but coudln't. Loved it to the core. It is as if you were paying tribute to the unsung heroine of Ramayana whose sacrifice without which the purpose of Ram's avatar wouldn't have been fulfilled. Do write more often.

@gmgi actually Ramayana has the most intelligent women, who were duty bound one way or other. And without those women Ram would have never been able to complete the purpose of his avatar.
Actually our patriarchal society when they highlighted the contribution of men, they never gave importance to the women of Ramayana. Manthara and Kaikeyi are always highlighted. Not Urmila, Mandavi, Tara, Sulochana, Mandodari

How beautifully you made a woman out of young girl called Urmila!!! This has to be the most perfect description of the entire vanvaas episode that I have read till date! Too beautiful!!

@Meself Thank you. One of the biggest complaints I have for Indian shows is that they never show character growth whether girl or boy. In every gir's life there comes a situation where she grows up, same with a boy, he grows up. When she becomes a woman, he becomes a man.
But we show our leading characters tied to the apron strings of mothers😡. Our epics never showed like that.

We had a jabradasti waali shaadi in yesterday's episode...so character growth can very go down the drain! And I though I was watching a modern day rendition of Ramayan...and I witnessed Ekta Maiyaa like drama! Makers ke bol bachan!!!😕

@DD that song mein mar jawa. Waiting for ur take. @meself i have a different take on yesterday epi. Ek present the man who does zabardast marriage as ram. Heroine will fall in love with him and then she will become ideal bahu tolerating rubbish. And she is called sita. Cvs showed one who does that rubbish is ravan and one who tolerates rubbish is mandodari. Neither ram nor sita.
