Ok, you mean samkshipta/ abridged Ramayana?
Narada praising might mean that children didnt die an unnatural deaths , deaths from diseases, deaths from malnutrition
Shambuka story is definitely not concurrent with Ram's nature and he accepting Shabari's hospitality says two things
Ram's unbiased nature and shudras were not barred from gaining knowledge. Jabali, the minister in dashrath's court is another prime example , his mother was shudra and the father is unknown and Jabali was given the title of 'Satyakam' one who wishes to know truth

This is exactly why the story of Shambhuka in Uttar Kand was a total interpolation. Many scriptures prove him to be a contemporary of Ikshvaku, who was Ram's great-great-great-great-great grandfather (might be more greats in there). He wouldn't have been alive at Ram's time.

Also, none of God's incarnations ever differentiated between people based on caste. Scriptures have always stated varna as being by act more than birth. Shudras were not a hated caste back then. They were simply the workers who did menial tasks for a living, and their work was well respected by people, particularly in Ram Rajya where everyone was treated fairly.

Like I mentioned before, this story was interpolated into Uttar Kand by people who wanted to justify violence based on caste, and they wanted this violence to be done by Lord Ram so that people would think it was okay, but in the original Valmiki, the story of Shambhuka is non-existent.

I have not read the scriptures thoroughly, but Shabri is definitely not a part of Ramayan (this also does not mean that Shabri episode did not happen at all afterall day to day instances were not recorded in Ramayan)
Also the various stories that you all have put about Shambhuk being a Rakshas etc. seem later additions to justify the act. Shambhuk episode however not being a part of Ramayan however seems much logical
