I liked the message passed by King Janak to King Dhasarath. What a beautiful, meaningful, short to the point letter!!!!! He mentioned the event within 5 lines w/o causing any chaos. (I have stated the meaning of the lines and not the exact dialogues)

1. He stated to dhasarath " You mentioned that as Ram was not in ayodhya and gone with guru vishwamitra, u can't send ur son to swayamvar" --- a classic approach to counter a person underlining if Ram was there in ayodhya u won't mind in sending him 😉

2. Ram, Laxman along with guru reached mithila before getting ur msg --- again to state its not intentional

3. The purpose of their visit is to dharshan the shiv dhanush - emphasizing to know actual reason

4. When all kings/princes failed to perform the task of lifting the dhanush, your son proved to be the best --- attractive way of explaining the event😊

5. I request you to bless Sita by coming to mithila- as per swayamvar norms, she will be ur bahu😆

What a way to convey the message to higher official 👏. Its an art to put cross our view w/o hurting others.

We use to state "Learn to say no". It is always not needed to please everyone for everything.

Note 1: My appreciation to dialogue writers and actors ⭐️

Note 2: warning 1 for CV's - I do appreciate the different perspective of the epics but not the inclusion. I get a feeling (just my wild speculation) that the show may take a saas-bahu melodrama. I am not bashing the CV's but making a "warning alert 1" to indicate that its not always necessary to please everyone, in which case you may lose some loyal viewers like me. I didnt enter this in distortion thread, as kaikeyi's approach seems to be heading towards the saas bahu saga and its not yet aired. I will be happy, if I am proved wrong.Its my personal view and no generalization.

@Ramya dear nice post. Yes the message was crisp. And you forgot one thing, Raja Janak clearly mentioned based on Vishwamitra's order Ram lifted the Dhanush. He had clearly ensured the respect of his would be son-in-law as an obedient son only. Because in those days Guru had the right to order Shishya. And since Dasrath has not said explicit no to the alliance Viswhamitra could exercise this right.

And play of words was a beauty. Yes Dasrath felt the elation of more than getting the bahu, the fact that his son achieved something that no one else could have. And that makes him appreciate and accept the alliance. If you look even the 2 other queens Kausalya and Sumitra are also more overwhelmed by Ram's achievement which places him as superior. The justification of Raghuvansi tag. Janak actually praised their son so much that, for them the marriage is a bonus😃. A marriage that proves their son's worth 😃. I would say Raja Janak very well knew what appeals to Ayodhya.

Coming to Kaikeyi if that flashback was not shown I would have said saas-bahu. But at this point in Kaikeyi I am only seeing a mother whose expectation is broken and being independent and stub born she doesn't like it.

Most probably Dasrath will go ahead with other 2 Queens opinion, sidelining Kaikeyi. Ram and Sita may manage to salvage the situation for the present. But then when coronation is announced in Bharat's absence Manthara will use this also to poision Kaikeyi to extreme to demand those 2 boons.

@Shruthi: Yes, Janak nicely involved the guru vishwamitra in his letter. U pointed out it well. Sometimes even our bashing with selective words will be mere sarcastic beauty. Here Janak just read the pulse of dhasarth so well.😉

Coming to kaikeyi, its my gut feeling hope to get it wrong. Thats why, only warning and no bashing😆

@Ramya for me CVs are sending Kaikeyi gradually to the iron grip of Manthara with each incident. Not like one morning she woke up, listened to Manthara and asked those boons.She is going to believe all the imaginery fears Manthara drills into her and finally when she is woken up by Bharath with his harsh words it would have been too late in the game😆😆.

As far as I remember, there is no saas-bahu fight in epics. I don't think its present even in sub-story line.

Amazing post just like the amazing letter Janak has sent to Ayodhya, 👏 & as for saas bahu drama , no don't worry they will not coz big names like devout pattnaik Anirudh pathak etc are linked to the show they will never play with fire , they are knowing their responsibilities for sure dear..😳

Wonderful post Ramya, and you have very well analysed the words of Janak.

The writers in this show are doing a good job, and another example I recall the way Janak had snubbed Ravana.

Also the way in which Gargi had told Sita about her birth. Was also beautiful . Of course special kripa of dialogue writers on Ramji has always been there. His words have always been beautifully created.

I don't think the writers will make the show into a Saas bahu khichadi! They have plenty of other shows to mess with!
