AS:Hello Namaskar.I am very good.How r u?
RB: completely fine.Also can I add a disclaimer. Also want me to talk a bit of Hindi.I will talk in Hindi as much as I can.But if not a bit of English and Hindi mixed together. Then it will be Hinglish

RB:How ar u?Are u good?
AS:I am very good.
RB:When SKR was offered to u.What was the Procedure. How did u get the role of Ram?
AS: Actually the maker of the show, Who is producing and directing the show that is Nikhil
Sinha.He was my first director, when I started acting. He know me for nearly 8 to 10 years He called me to his office and said, I am making this and u are doing it.He didn't offer me or didn't ask me but just said that I am doing it and "I am seeing u in this" .Since somewhere due to him I am where I am now, so I can't say no to him. And the other thing the way he saw this and Visualized it ,the way he visualized Ram there is no question of saying no.
RB: With this show comes lot of responsibilities isn't. This role Ram u are doing, did u have to do some research. Where u apprehensive about the response u could get
AS: Yes. Whenever u do a role like this specially our mytho roles Ram or Krishna or Shiv. Responsibility is big as People's emotions are involved, feelings are involved can hurt them somewhere. And research is easy and also difficult. So many things are there, ur brought up with this stories, have read it so many times, Seen onscreen so many times. Lots of literatures are available and things are available for research. And it is also difficult at the same time as u have to play it differently from them
RB:Did u face any issues at all when u researched or when u played the role of Ram
AS: Biggest of all issues was that to play Ram u had to inherit and embed some qualities of Ram orelse u can't connect with the audience. The prominent quality of Ram was that serenity he had. The inner peace what we call it.To bring that was very necessary .Or else hoeever u try u can't bring it to the eyes and it won't be visible in ur eyes. So to bring that inner peace was very difficult for me. Bcos after all we are human beings we have inner traits and I am a different individual. So to reach the stage of inner peace, I had to work hard
RB:And it's contrast as well,the previous character u played in RR,in which u were an angry man It's complete opposite to what u are playing now, aren't u?
AS: yes, very different, totally opposite. How to say, Rudra was Shiv. It's a avathar of Shiv we manipulated. Here it's Ram, so completely opposite to each other.
RB:Shweta is asking this, "one thing U will take away form Ram, what did u learn form
playing Ram's character so far"
AS:I think one thing that everybody should take away from Ram is to respect their parents. It's where important to respect ur father and Mother, in today words kid don't do it.
RB: Question form tinker "were u apprehensive about Ram,as u had a Mooch(moustache) for RR previously and here ur without a mooch and beard "were u apprehensive how u will be accepted
AS:No.How will u get acceptance. Acceptance was for mooch too. There was no mooch before that. It's my job to get accepted in different looks. It my job that I do it with sincerity that people accept it, so people praise it appreciate it. So I try every time whatever character I do, it's different from my previous ones. Look wise it should be different more than looks wise it should reflect the role I am playing then. Ram can't be with Mooch but Ravan can be with Mooch.
RB:Shilpa is asking "are u doing anything different in particular with Ram's character, which will bring in the younger viewers
AS: Actually if u see the whole show, the treatment of the whole show is appealing for young audience. We have brought in the feel of a mytho that exists, whenever it has been made, it is retained but in a contemporary manner so that it will appeal to young audience. It is been made for them, the new generation should see nd know what Ramayan was. I strongly believe that Ramayn should be made in every decade. Bcos young generation should know on what stories we r brought up.
RB: Another thing is it's going to be made in Sita's perspective. Is there going to be a romantic angle. Will Ram be bit more romantic than what we know.
AS:u will see very emotion of Ram explored not just romance. But yes Ram-Sita's love story will be the base of the story.But u will she all the existing human emotions being explored
RB:Mano is asking"did u do anything bizarre things in the process of ur method acting "Does anting that comes to ur mind that u have done before
AS:u mean for this role
RB:for this and also in the past for any role
AS:In the past obviously I did so many things. Some things comes by doing bizarre things. Before I have done so many things but I don't think it has any relevance now. For this not bizarre but a thing that I embodied in my life style, which I never used to do was meditation. Like I mentioned before that inner calmness and peace, to gain that I had to do something. Since four months I started meditating in the morning. Bcos of that the serenity or calmness that has to be in my eyes, I have achieved it more or less
RB:Varshu and tweetypai asking. If u apprehensive that u will be compared with Arun Kohil and Gurmeet who played Ram before
AS:Not at all. They did their job,I have to do my Job.I have never become apprehensive regarding these things. bcos they work that is already done in past, why would I get apprehensive about it,It's done and has gone years before.Now I have to recreate it on my own way and I am doing it.So I not apprehensive about anything.
RS:Mano is asking"the voice Modulation u do,u have many fans for ur voice,The voice modulation u do to get into the charactter of Ram ,did u do and how did it work for u
AS:yes voice modulation was done.All the character I have done if u revisit RSSI or RR they will be able to see the difference in quality of each. As an Individual the voice quality I have, I can't go beyond that but within it I can do whatever I can.I have tried this time to have a stability in my voice. The resonance that is in the voice that will come out whenever I speak. Then u can connect it with Ram
RS:Shruti is asking, how long do it take to get into the character of ur show, the cloths that u wear. How long does it take for makeup.
AS:it's takes be an hour to finish. Till now whatever I have done this one takes the maximum time.And I really don't like it.I am used to getting ready in 10 mins,fast fast.This time it takes me an hour and I really don't like it.
RB:what about other cast of the show.It's a big cast.How is everyone jelling with each other
AS: Actually till now we haven't started shooting together. We have just met each other few times.In the few times we met, obviously we met during the workshop that happened before. From Whatever I know all are jellying very well bcos all are very senior actors.Dilip Tahil is there, the one doing Ravan is a very senior actor from South,.Bijoy Anand who is very senior actor is making a comeback. Since they are experienced actors it becomes easy to work with them.
RB:Got a question right now from twitter,will u get a response from non Indians as well, since it is an Indian show,will u get from other faiths other religions
AS: Absolutely, it's an universal story. It doesn't have anything to do with, religion has nothing to do with Ramayan.It's about life style.It's about living.It's about way of life.It has no relation with any religion,Dharm(something like concept).It's a story of life,how life should be lived and how it's lived, that's all
RB:There is also question about the fitness. Talk about the impact of Ram's character on ur health and fitness.
AS:I enjoyed a lot. My injuries healed more or less.Bcos I started alternate workout all together. I enjoyed a lot.I learned archery too.I got a chance to learn a new thing. Plus I really enjoy when u try to change something about yourself, try to recreate and I feel very good doing it with myself be it emotionally or Physically. Physically it was important to bring changes in this,bcos we usually forget that Ram was a trained warrior prince. He was a trained archery, he was very good horse rider. All these things were always overlooked and the godly aspects always overshadowed this. So we had this in mind and made the physicality .U will see strong fore arms, broad shoulders, firm upper back. Usually that's how is the body of archers, and when u do horse riding u have strong caves, strong hamstrings so we have taken all this into account, before preparation.
RB: Message from all ur fans.Congo to u.How do u describe ur journey of this last five year.From Bhaiyaji,CGM,Ranveer,Rudra now Ram
AS:it's a very fulfilling journey. It's humbling even to know these people remembering that it has been five years, that I have done these many characters feel great, feel blessed. Obviously I feel blessed, feel fortunate. I feel very humbled not just one time but again and again every time audience at least accepted what I tried. I always just tried one thing for television, that is to bring a breakthrough in TV for male actors that this medium is for them too if u try.If u try, if u work hard and have patience then this medium is very much theirs as much as it is for female actors .
RB:There are lot of fans from RR,they are all saying that they are looking forward to watching u in SKR.The are all talking about ur pairing with Sanya Irani and they all miss that pairing badly onscreen. And they are asking how is ur lead pair, chemistry with Madirakshi
AS: Obviously I too miss the whole RR team .And I can understand that the way people accepted me and Sanaya.We also felt equally good when we were liked by viewers. We too like appreciation we both liked it .But then things are not in our hands. We are not the makers so.We don't cast us ourselves in each show. Even if we like we can't cast ourselves. That is about Sanaya. And about Madirakshi again I haven't actually started shooting with her,she has started shooting her separate portions. But we haven't started shooting together. We just shot the Promo together. So whatever we shot, it's been nice, it's been cordial.
RB:when will u start shooting together. When will that day arrive?
AS:we will start shooting in a week's time
RB:the episodes u shoot.Do u film it in advance or there and then
AS:We are shooting in advance. I haven't even started shooting yet.We are shooting with the kids.It will be for a month. Then will start seeing the bigger version ,Till now we have almost a month of eps bank

RB:Ashish before going just one more question. Before we were talking right about u doing films on big screen.May be something will happen in ,bollywood .Anything on that
AS:Right now I am tied up with this.When u do TV,U can't do anything else. Right now no such plans.Yes I did get lot of offers. After RR and Jhalak and before SKR but,I did not want to do them,bcos they were just films and I don't want to do a film, just bcos it's a film and there is nothing for me to do in it. So unless something exciting comes my way,I don't think I will do anything be it TV,a film or play anything.
