tara was an important part for the reason that she married Niharika's ex Rahul and Rahul is killed. But now.. that she already knows about it and so told to Rudra about him getting Rahul killed. I don't see her having anything to do in the serial...

I agree with kritika, and yeah, tara had a pretty big role then. there still might be a lot of "problems" coming up which needs a policeman to solve it. srry if that didnt make any sense.
