I have been a silent member of this forum and an avid reader of all posts made here. Kudos to all great writers and analysts. Here is my analysis of my fav character Mishti and her saga of badalte rishte

Mishti, like every young girl of her age was living in her cocoon with her mom and popsie. I found many people saying that only after kunal gatecrashed into her life, all the issues started. But I defer from the popular opinion here. The epi in which first time pari comes to Mishti's house and speaks fondly about her father, we can see a tinge of jealousy in Mishti. No matter how self-sufficient Mauli is or selfless Ishaan is the fact is that Mishti's biological father was missing in her life. She could see that her family was not normal. The insecurities only intensified with Kunal's arrival. Kunal might be a terrible husband but he is a really good father and our little Mishti could see it in Pari and Kunal's bonding. Being deprived of her father's love was one thing but watching him shower it on another girl takes it to another level. Even though Kunal was oblivious to Mishti's existence, but for Mishti when Kunal rejected her pregnant mother, he rejected her too. On the other hand, we have Pari whose parents relationship was condemned unethical by society. Neither Mauli nor Kunal's family took it on her. Plus she didn't face rejection from any of her parents. That is why when pari and Mishti both wished for a complete family, we can see a stark contrast in the way they expressed it in front of Santa (Kunal). For Pari, it was her mom's last wish and she will get a new sister. For Mishti, it was an assurance. An assurance of love, support and presence of a father who will not abandon her in the form of Ishaan. In Kunal's own admission "Mishti's emotional needs are deeper as her insecurities are deeper. When she got her Popsie as her dad, her insecurities might have got subsided. Or atleast everyone thought so.

There is an inevitable truth of life that things we manage easily as kids might crawl back into our life as we grow up. Coz now he have the maturity to understand the complexity of those incidents and the pain that followed through. Those past incidents haunt us if proper closure is not given. That is the exact case of Mishti. Her fears grew with her silently deep inside her heart. Like a dull aching feeling that doesn't confront you directly but keeps haunting you at the back of your mind.

Now, the elder Mishti being the breadwinner and the sorted one of all the siblings had to keep her fears from resurfacing by burying herself into responsibilities. No one in the family or Veer pushed her to do so. It was her choice initially to keep her family going ahead from the tragic loss which later became an integral part of her personality.

Coming to Mishti, Pari and Ansh's relationship, though both sisters love their younger brother equally, I feel Mishti feels a stronger sense of responsibility towards him because of her bond shehad with Ishaan. She is trying to somehow fill the father role in his life. And our Ansh here is going through the perks of being a teenager. It is really hard for a girl like Mishti to understand and connect with Ansh as Ishaan would do at this point of time. This particular aspect might be bothering her too. She sees it as her failing

Having been engaged to Veer and developing feelings/losing self control in presence of Ruhaan must shake her to the very core. She might be seeing a reflection of her own dad in her whose deeds she detested so much. She is trying to gain control over the situation with all means possible. Sometimes they are devoid of logic too but for her it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters to her is being loyal to Veer or not becoming another Kunal.

Now coming to Veer, his action for me is totally justifiable. He didn't see this Mishti and he was confused, disappointed and hurt. He needed space which is quite natural. He would be wrong if he expects Mishti to behave her best version every damn time.

A healthy relationship is where two partners stay together without any inhibitions and just be themselves. If Mishti and Veer build such a relationship, I will ship them. If she develops that bond with Ruhaan over the course of time, I am open to accept their relationship too.

At the end of the day, every woman no matter what her flaws are deserves a partner who will motivate her to be her best self and at the same time accepts her worst self with all his heart.

Enough ranting for a day. Chappals and tomatoes are not allowed.😳. I know its too much but please read😊

Great analysis!!! 👏 👏 👏 Absolutely loved reading it.

I had a hard time understanding Mishti's POV because I thought she had Mauli, Ishaan and Kunal for a fair amount of time to form an opinion. It was after the FB that we got to learn all the three kids were way too little and growing up they did not have any solid parent beside them.

I agree with everything you have said on her insecurity. I have noticed parents often neglect or overlook incidents and think that eventually kids will understand. But it's exactly the opposite. Kunal as a person was very much flawed and he did the worst to Mauli.

But I strongly believe, he was the best parents among all three of them. I respect Ishaan for loving someone else's kid as his own. Not only Mishti, he loved Pari too. But still, when it came down to handling them, both Mauli and Ishaan failed and went for temporary solution like taking her to a movie or separating her from Pari. It was Kunal who could really understand from where Mishti was coming and took a decision. And only after realizing that, Mishti changed her opinion and let him enter into her life.

So, I always thought Kunal would have a great impact on Mishti when she would grow up. But unfortunately, she lost all of them and the void that was already in her life just got bigger and the fearful kid masked her insecurity with a perfect image.

As a person, her insecurities, her pain is something I can sympathize with.

But the fact is, the way she is going or rather the writer is portraying her, in the long run it would ruin her chance at happiness. Although both the sisters love each other, somewhere down the line, we have seen they can't properly communicate with each other. Each of them holds themselves back because they are too afraid to hurt the other. And that is not healthy.

I still remember the scene where Nandini told Mauli how Radeep had took her to the hotel and she escaped. I can never forget the expression of both Mauli and Nandini on that particular scene. Nandini who had described the most horrifying incident of her life without flinching and Mauli was right there to comfort her.
This particular trait I find missing in MishRi.

I really hope, Mishti realizes soon enough that it's her perfect image that is actually acting as a wall between her and her loved ones. Now it can be Ruhaan or Veer, I have no problem as long as they don't portray Mishti as a maniac.

After that the girl should realize what she wants to do act upon it. She can also choose herself while remaining greatful to Veer and Ruhaan for opening her eyes.

I don't want her MANZIL to be a guy. I want her to choose herself with all the imperfection.

So beautifully penned down. I have always been a fan girl of your posts.

Mishti needs to work on herself otherwise she will ruin her chances of happiness and land her family in a bigger mess.

Totally agree with you. A guy is neither a girl's Manzil nor a Padav in her life

Silsila forum has helped me a lot in uderstanding the complexities of relationships..Getting to read different point of views has had positive impact on me.
And your write upon mishti has to be the best write up i had read on her.. I have not watched season1(watched only a few episodes here and there that too before nandinis exit) so this post has helped me in understanding Mishti in a better way and thank you so much for that. You are so good at writing.. Would love to read more analysis from you.
