I wrote this in another thread but also writing it here:
Here's the thing. Do I think the show is ending on Friday and all three main leads will die?!?! Yes. I am mentally prepared for this, I'll mourn tonight and get over it tomorrow.
But even in my ranting, I forgot the big picture. I, like the rest of us, drowned out what actually happened in today's episode between Mauli's chasing scenes with Kunal, Kunal's detective mode, Dida's baseless gyaan...
So I will break it down.
Episode beginning - Mauli cries and has flashbacks to both Kunal and Ishaan moments. She is tormented and conflicted.
Episode middle - Mauli has a heart to heart with Radhika/Dida, has an "ahaaa!" light bulb moment, secretly listens to Dida's gyaan. Ends up in the bathroom crying - and the most important realization hits her - SHE NEEDS TO MAKE A DECISION
Episode ends on - Mauli being very, very, VERY persistent to Ishaan that she needs to meet him URGENTLY, it's very important, something she doesn't want to say at home/in front of the kids, but out, ALONE, at a coffee shop decorated with heart balloons for VALENTINE'S (AKA Lover's) Day. She wanted to meet him alone SO MUCH that she even arranged Pramilla to come babysit. She crossed her T's and dotted her I's. For friendship? For appreciation? For gratitude? After she heard Dida's gyaan saying love is different from friendship/gratitude and all? HELLL NO. She did this only for one reason and one reason only...
THEN, she goes to buy flowers and happily pens down a note which reads (Mona and PW helped with this - They did 99%, I did 1%):
"Bahut dil dukhaya hai tumhara. Aj se yahi koshish rahegi ki jitna dukh doon ussey zyada sukoon/sukh doon. Sorry kehna nahi hotha, jatana hota hai. Aur jo kehna hotha hai, wo shayad yeh phool beithar keh sakhein. Love, Mauli"
I am going to put in bold/italics the last lines of this note.
Let me spell it out for everyone: She was going to tell Ishaan she loves him.
It is no blooper, the progression of Mauli's mind/feelings today.
She went from an internal doubt/conflict/struggle while crying in bed, to telling herself in the bathroom that she MUST make a decision, to calling Ishaan and telling him it is URGENT that he meet her today and that too OUTSIDE of the house, and then writing this letter.
And then when Kunal catches her, she gives him the bouquet, she gives him the gift, she tells him he can have it, but she hides the letter.
He can have everything, but the letter.
Why? Because Kunal can have the blue shirt, he can have the gift, he can have the flowers/bouquet, he can have Mauli acting as his wife, but he cannot have Mauli's jazbaat, her love, her heart.
That all belongs to Ishaan now.
So yes, I am already mourning and preparing that all 3 leads will die/be killed off, and that we may never get a MauHaan wedding, but today I am celebrating that Mauli realized she loved Ishaan.
And keep in mind, I watched the episode 3x, once for my short update, once for my detailed update, once for caps.
3x exposure, and for sure, Mauli was going to tell Ishaan she loves him.
Sometimes when we watch, we watch with a preconceived notion, or with anger or disappointment and all these emotions cloud our judgement. We miss scenes, dialogues or even facial expressions. I did that the first time around when I wrote the short summary/update.
But after watching it 2x more for sure, Mauli's sense of urgency and her just being so happy writing the note to Ishaan, and even her words at the end of the note, for sure, she was going to tell him she loves him. Asae nae she was pleading with him to meet her and kept saying it's urgent,
For any of us, when we have fallen in love, we all know that moment where we want to make sure the first time we express to our significant other that we love them, we want to say it as soon as possible and in the most special way.
That was Mauli today, saaf dikhra tha.
