I think Kunals feelings came out clearly today. He said he was right in his actions. He left Mauli because he didn't love her...he loved nandu.he didn't want to be in a loveless marriage. He does respect Mauli And value her,.but he does not love her and maybe he never will. So he does not want her to pursue her feelings for him. He knows she'll be happy with Ishaan because he himself said that Ishaan is a great guy. I think he asked this girl to pretend to be his gf so Mauli does not embarrass herself by expressing her love for him and then him having to reject her again. He did apologize to Mauli for hurting her. But love can't be controlled ..you can't stop yourself from falling in love ..so when he fell for nandu he couldn't prevent it.

This character Kunal is influenced by righteous syndrome. He never realised his mistake whatever he did is right and every one should agree with that. May be he fall out of love and his moving on is necessary but his humiliation isn't and he is responsible for breaking her self esteem.

sadly cheating husbands don't see what they've done as wrong,,,because according to them they fell in love with the other woman and it was their happiness to be with this other woman. so Kunal will never see what he did as wrong..he may just apologize to Mauli for hurting her but he's not going to regret or repent becAuse according to him he was right, that's why it's best for Mauli to Move on and forget about him.
