When mauli was asking the guard.. she said misti malhotra..

If mauli did not want any influence of kunal on her child..

Why she's using his name?

Logically, legally it makes sense .. no doubt..

But did she not realise kids will grow up n ask where did i get the malhotra name from..

She keeps saying Ishaan is the father figure, but when he legally wants to adopt her, she has a problem. I understand its hard for single ladies to trust a new guy, but she could have said may be after we are legally married, instead she said she trusts kunal 😆

Why is she using his name? because Mishti is a child whose parents were married at the time of conception. It is rare that kids don't take their father's name if parents were married.

There is not much in a name. Mishti lives with her two grandmothers from Kunal's side. That has a bigger connection to Kunal than her last name.

Mishti will take her fathers surname till the time mauli marries ishan .

Dida and Radhika are her family too. And Mishti was conceived when Mauli was married.

I don't think Mauli will change Mishti's last name to Ishaan's even if they marry. Also it is rare to see step-kids take their step-father's name unless something changes legally. Like Sikander Kher and Anupam Kher. Did you see how today Ishaan officially wanted to make Mishti his daughter and Mauli didn't let him?

I meant she keeps mentioning / taking promises that kunal should not know n all.. but keeping the name is like an open signal for a doubt in childs mind.

Don't ask for drama logic. She was living with his family and the child calls his mom daadi, not naani. She must've assumed he would never return and meet them again.

till ishaan doesn't marry mauli and legally adopt mishti with kunal's permission...she will be known as Malhotra only

Mauli should have given her surname...after divorce she is no more Malhotra...is there any rule that the child should take up only father name not mother name?
