My hatred for this show isn't because of the EMA concept whatsoever. Heck, when news and promos of the show first aired, I was one one of the people who defended this show by pointing out that if we wan the quality of indian serials to improve, we need to accept experiments in concepts as well as true life portrayals, but this show, especially kunal-nandini's characters and their attitude towards mauli and the affair turned out to be incredibly different from what I had predicted and thought, different in that they were straight up ungrateful, deceitful, ignorant, insensitive, selfish etc.
And the biggest reason. Mauli and kunal has no marital issues, were deeply in love, kunal was a dream guy. Then the way they showed him fall for nandini, nandini fall for him, and their affair starting showed no logical reasons for the affair other than for me to think that kunal got bored of mauli the moment a new shiny toy came alone, that kunal wanted a girl who was a damsel in distress to stroke his ego and make him feel like a man, that he felt sympathy for which made him want to show her affection, whilst nandini was just a cheapo selfish and ungrateful character to steal her best friend's husband just coz hers was a failure, plus given how she reacted when her husband tried to sleep with another girl completely contrasting with her indifference at kunal cheating his wife with her, and still thinking he is a better man than her previous husband, making her look even more selfish.
Kunal has given no reasons for why he "fell out of love" with mauli, and ultimately this just makes him look like a lusty pig who can't be loyal, yet the makers keep trying tpo show these two as innocent and that their love is true, despite viewers not being able to see any of this with the way the characters are acting.
