Don't know about whitewashing but I am also not angry with sweety.
Actually that scene was suppose to be done by Mauli's mom but the actress performing her role is on leave due to a personal loss, hence they used Sweety. There is no whitewashing or gaining sympathy here, it is just a way to send Nandini away for the track .
I hate people like sweety but in this scene in didn't feel bad for nandini at all.If it was Mauli's mom.in place of sweety it would be better.
