Mauli-
Mauli means crown. Something which you should adorn on your head and it will increase your glory, will make you powerful.

Nandini-
Nandini means bestower of joy or the one who brings joy in your life, the presence of whom will make you happy.

Kunal-
Kunal means golden or (made of) gold, a very precious metal which gains it's beauty thanks to the heat it goes through. Gold jewellery is kept very safely as it is close to the heart.

Rajdeep-
Rajdeep means the best of kings, someone who is strong and just and kind and helps others.

Now, what do we see?

What we see is the exact opposite. The characters act totally opposite to what their names imply.

Mauli-
Who is supposed to be a crown, to be kept on the highest pedestal is thrown away like a used toy or garbage.

Nandini-
Who is supposed to bring joy in lives has only brought misery and heartbreak in their lives.

Kunal-
Who is supposed to be precious and unique is just another cheap person, like lead or some other cheap metal.

Rajdeep-
Who is supposed to be the best of kings aka the best of men is the worst specimen of the male species. He is vile and cunning and just plain evil.

So what does this mean? This means names can be deceiving as well, just as people can be. And I don't know if the makers did this intentionally but it is very interesting to think this, right?

What are your thoughts on this?

Wow that is some very thought provoking observation indeed! I'm personally very interested in all the 'behind the name' ideas. Especially since i write i usually pick up names that have a subtle link with what i have in store for the character. So in that sense writers of the show might have thought along the lines you just mentioned. They are not what they seem to be or...what their parents thought they will grow up to be😆
Jokes apart it will be a great if the show traces the path of each character as they grow into suit the name they have been given. But I'm not sure with its current story line how much of that we will actually get.
Before I go, once again it's been a very interesting line to think on. Thank you for this post!

Is it a coincidence that all the characters are exact opposites of the meaning of their names.

Very interesting, never knew that their names have meaning. Are these Sanskrit words?

These are actually Hindi synonyms. None of these words are Sanskrit.
Mauli is used in Pooja rituals as Mauli dhaga tied around wrist.
Nandini references to Anand meaning joy.
Rajdeep literally means the king who is like a deep whose responsibility is to lighten up lives of others.
Kunal refers to gold.

Their parents messed up in naming them, they should have a naming ceremony again😆

Bold: Oh how I wish!

You are welcome😉
