It would still have been condemnable but maybe, just maybe the reactions would not have been so extreme...
The synpathy has completely disappeared because of the absolutely loathsome person Nandini is...

if Kunal is not her bff's husband then also having affair with a married man is wrong n still she will be considered as homewrecker only that too for a woman like nandini who knows what a broken marriage would feel like when becomes indifferent to how her affair would affect the life of kunal's wife she will be considered as worse...if Kunal loves her n she too feels good in his companionship then she can be selfish to the extent of having emotional support n seek his help when needed but once he tries to cross that limit she should ignore him n till that stage only she would deserve sympathy...society n law has the set rules to consider what is wrong n what is right without looking into the background n analysing what lead to it and sometimes unless a person undergoes a similar situation n experience the same level of emotional stress it is impossible to understand others' plea but ones own conscience can also decide what is wrong n right n that depends on the morals they have, if one does wrong n still considers it as right then even the redemption becomes impossible...

Don't cheat, you can't control falling in love with someone, I am not going to buy that you can't control sleeping with random people, divorce first then sleep with the town, don't care

so i have no problem with kunal or nandani love if its real but that they didn't give a damn about mauli feelings. i think love should make us more emphatic instead of bloody selfish.

Same to same. If I was single and found "true love in a married man. I wont be able to spend my life with him in guilt. For me guilt would be the overiding emotion which would overtake any lovey dovey feelings.

Jab khud ke upar continously ghin aye khud se naftrat ho toh kya us true love ka achaar daloge. Roj khud ko thappad marne ka man kare aise pyaar ka fayeda hi kya. No thanks

Yes Nandini deserves sympathy. Even if she is in love with her best friend's husband or in lust with him, she does, for the abuse part. Some may sympathize with her even now with all her kheer and true lauu antics, for being idiot enough to directly dance on the kulhari by betraying Mauli, the only person at this point who could have brought a change in her life for betterment.
If the love story (if there's any) had been handled prudently or sans the best friend angle, I would have sympathized with her even more. (After I have been thoroughly annoyed by her 'goosebumping ahmazing" crying sessions)

But that's the keyword : Sympathy.

This character is so hollow on paper that it's completely shallow on screen. It has nothing to offer. It is just another news headline we read everyday in newpapers. Shake our head, do a little tsk tsk, bash the authorities, finish the breakfast and run for work. Agar thoda zayada time mila toh,we might read in detail and get to know that the abused woman was a good cook and a good dancer. we tsk tsk some more and move on.

Somewhere between a very cliched portrayal of trauma and a 360 degree turned about wardrobe, a chasm formed between viewers and Nandini, which I believe would have always been there, no matter what treatment the love story would have gotten.

It's not the faliure of the love story, it's nandini as a character who failed. Even with all the attention to her pre kunal-mauli phase, this character still has a randomness to it, as if a corner stone had never been laid in the first place for her , while the characters were being sketched.

So, with whatever limited back up Nandini has got from the pen department, as far as she can fair is Sympathy and never empathy, which mauli very successfully managed to evoke for herself from the audience.

cheating is cheating. It's worse that its with the bff husband🤢 but the act of cheating and lying is still wrong. It's a choice. So I would still be as disgusted if she cheated with someone else's husband or boyfriend for that matter. I really have no sympathy for this character. However, I won't hold it against her if she fell in love. We can't control that but no one says you should cheat and lie. You should do the right thing. Get separated//divorce, and then proceed.
Though it doesn't mean I would support any relationship that started like this. It would be pretty gross. I won't want to be around these people. I would be polite but I won't befriend them, help them or interact with them. I would just keep my distance.
I think in order to fall in love with someone you have to allow something in you to accept this could be a viable partner. It's why we don't fall in love with our brothers and fathers. I think if there was already that boundary, Nandani would never cross it because she'd see Kunal as a brother. Somewhere along the way, BOTH of them allowed themselves to see each other as a viable partner.

whichever way, it's still pretty disgusting

I actually felt bad for her today.
Her integrity was questioned & pointed out by none other than the douche Rajdeep. And Mauli's mom coined her a "prostitute" wrapped in words even though she herself is a great question-mark on womanhood.

No one deserves this. I don't know why did they show it. I mean it's punishable offence to what that Mahila Morcha did. It''s goon mentality of what they did by dragging her out of the house.

Here is a woman who was abused by her hubby & never found love & finally she finds a guy who loves her. Is it wrong to be selfish & hold on to that love? What is right & What is wrong & who decides this? Society? Law?

Wanted 2 know what every1 feels about this 😳

Oh god you sound like the writers of the show...
ITS NEVER WRONG TO LOVE SOMEONE..
BUT ACTING ON IT WHEN THEY ARE STILL IN ANOTHER RELATION IS MORALLY ETHICALLY WRONG.

When you start doing things behind someones back.. there itself you know your wrong.
Like mauli said your not a 5yr old who says i dint mean it but I broke your house...

1 moment I feel though the shaming & lynching is absurd she finally got 2 know wat she has done. But another moment I was angry. If she seduced a married guy wat bt tat married guy who cheated his wife. Why no black ink on Kunal 😡
