After watching Today's episode these are the exact words that came to me for Kunan
Kaisa yeah piyar hey
asu bhari hey rahe,
dard hamarey saath hey!
Dil miley bhi nahi they,
Ke agayi judayi ki raat hey...
Mauli says everyone is disturbed. She mentions Nandini havn't had eaten anything and that makes Kunal bothered. When you love someone you care for that person. Doesn't matter whether you are together or not. The same is happening to Kunal. He worries for Nandini and deeply cares for her which is what makes him concerned. He asks Mauli in a pleading tone to go and make her eat. Mauli agrees with him but she returns thinking Nandini is asleep. But that doesn't work well with Kunal. He understands the reason immediately. He could well guess it isn't a sleep but a false pretense to hide the storm that is raging in her heart. Kunal knows it because he himself is going through the same tormented emotion, he has been bearing the pain and torture. So he could well imagine what Nandini must be feeling like. That's why he says, "yeah nind nahi dard hey !" He was so sure. Behind the cover of sleep, an endless vaccum and deep pain resides and only Kunal knows the depth of it.
His existence isn't with her but in his heart Kunal bears her Name. He feels every pang Nandini goes through. Even when he is with Mauli; Kunal's mind is so torn that he fails to return Mauli's love. In body he is with Mauli but in spirit he has long ago started venturing with Nandini.
Whereas Mauli is surprised but she takes it with a good spirit and thinks it as an outcome of a disturbed mind. She thinks the accident have sent him in trauma. Kunal just meekly accepts her conclusion.
How can someone sleep when the person for whom your heart beats had been going through hell? Kunal too couldn't. At night, troubled for Nandini, unable to sleep, Kunal gets up and heats the food and knocks at Nandini's door. When he doesn't get a reply instead of backing off (which he could have easily done had his heart not been beating for her), Kunal enters the room and finds Nandini in a corner, wet and shivering! Kunal becomes astonished.
Nandini was drenched from head to toe and Kunal with immense worry drapes a quilt around her. The scene is magnificent as it evokes deep feelings and the confrontation of these two heart- transpires great LOVE. A love that is timeless, unscathed and pure in its nature.
Nandini a shattered soul remains tranxfixed in her guilt ridden world so much so that even when Kunal calls her again and again she doesn't move or answer. She was traumatised because of her act. Being a pious woman, she believes she had done the unforgiving act of violating a sacred line.
One look at her and Kunal knew. Knew that whatever is going in her heart n mind, GUILT is the reason.
At this point breaking the spell, Nandini asks forgiveness and says it was a mistake and won't ever be repeated again. Her tone is sorrowful and eyes red. She looks like a grieving soul brought to life by Kunal's presence. Her big, large eyes contain the mirror of her entire heart and they pour the grief, it had been containing inside.
Kunal tries to soothe her by expressing his mind. He says he wants to know why she ran to him like that and landed in his arms. He wants to know the reason behind her emotional outburst.
It isn't that Kunal doesn't already know the answer. He does. But he wants to confirm it from her lips. It's how we react when the truth is precious to us and we want to live it. We do everything in our power to hear it so we can rekindle it. Same way Kunal wants to assure his own heart with her reply. He wants to experience the joy he had felt ealier one more time. The truth has immense value for him. But he also understands as sensitive as Nandini is, it is extremely difficult for her. It is also the cause of her tears.
For him Nandini is precisious. Nandini's tears are more important than his answer and so Kunal controls his urge. He knows he might not be able to bring her happiness but he wants to make sure one thing that he doesn't become the cause of her tears either. And he makes that clear to her. Kunal's soulful words assure Nandini that he doesn't ever want to hurt her. After all this time staying under one roof, Kunal has known her well. He knows Nandini is extremely vulnerable when emotional and her heart is fragile. It needs to be handled with care. And although Kunal wants to desperately, he knows he cannot mend her breaking heart but at the same time he tries to hold her together by assuring her. He makes things clear and tells her he will never raise the question again.
Nandini stares at Kunal with a hint of a frail smile. And what do we see? LOVE. A gentle-- calm gaze measuring him--- his entire face, his persona and shines in front us two pair of eyes full of affection! Nandini is transmitted to another world for the moment where she and her feelings are safe to open and embrace. That's why the realization she witnesses come at once to her lips, without any kind of hesitation. "Aap bohot ache insan hey. Aur samjdar bhi." The dialogue writer should be applauded! đ what incredible scripting!
The truth comes out and Nandini doesn't try to hide it. This is the only confession she makes to Kunal and Kunal grabs the chance and tries to convince her to eat. But Nandini this time places a condition. Ultimately it all comes down to the inevitable. The partition of two hearts become necessary.
Nandini wants to move out. She wants to make the line between them thick and prominent. He is too stunned and heartbroken to react but slowly recollecting himself Kunal agrees. He had to. What else choice he had? His face crumpled, heart on fire, he nods to her demand. He doesn't want to cause another moment of pain to Nandini. He could give his life for her whereas this was a small thing she had asked of him.
Therefore he doesn't object although inside he breaks. They are both miserable inwardly yet terribly helpless because they can do nothing about it. They have to go through it and surrender to what is right.
Every moment appears to be a struggle for him to keep himself normal and listen to her. Kunal's beautifully revealing eyes tell how agonized he is. Bruises upon bruises are lashed on his soul and he bears it in silence for Nandini's sake--for Mauli's sake and for everyone's sake. But mostly it is for Nandini. He gives her his word knowing probably this is the only way he could help Nandini overcome her guilt. This is the only way he could buy her peace.
No matter how far they are, he doesn't want to part. It would mean parting of two minds if not two hearts. It hurts him terribly and we see the pain on his face clearly. Nandini is in no different condition. Her position is the same. She is going through equal measure of suffering and that's why after making the request she breaks down into pool of tears. Her agony pours down through her eyes. đ
Next morning Mauli announces Kunal's abscense. They begin to joke about Kunal's affair and Mauli mentions Nandini. It's ironic how she names the two people who are actually bound by heart by now. Nandini shrinks. Kunal appears at that moment. He says he has found a nest for Nandini.
Kunal somewhere though he has given his accent, is hurt and angry at Nandini's decision. So when he says those words indicating her, his voice turns mocking. Nandini feels it and her face falls.
Inwardly Kunal is hurt because he doesn't want to be away from her yet he had to and angry because she had made her decision and he is helpless, he can't stop her. On both cases the hurt and anger is including himself too. He knows he is equally responsible for it and that makes things further harder for him.
However they go together to visit the new flat and Nandini says yes to it at once as she obviously doesn't want to waste another minute. But Mauli disagrees. Kunal says things to persuade her and after Nandini's insistence she too gives her consent. What I felt here was, though Kunal had searched the place for Nandini yet in his heart he still wished and wanted for Nandini to decline it. He wanted her to reject it. But she doesn't.
Kunal's face grows hard. He becomes stern. But Before leaving they look back at eachother and a look of mutual understanding passes between them. In Kunan's case the most beautiful thing is this emotion of feeling eachother's thought and respecting one another. There might be ages of distance between them but their mind and heart works in unison. Inspite of all the hurt and pain and anger, at the end of the day, they understand eachother more than anybody can understand anyone ever. And this unity and bonding is the BEAUTY of their relationship.
I loved the line where Kunal says " Main Nandini ka ghar har hal main basaunga." There is a supressed emotion of stubborness and resolution in his tone . Yeah pyaar hey , aur ek tarhey ka zidh bhi!
We all know it's no easy thing. If he works towards making her life, many worlds will shatter!
Now let's see how Kunal fulfils it.
Precap looks interesting. :)
