While i have not yet forgiven shaurya, I like this episode...
Interesting to note the stark difference in perspective of Reema and Anokhi regarding shaurya. Shaurya has always been a good professor/person to others.Always others.Anokhi does not even want to hear his name because in her world, he is the cause of all her misery.
Okay, Ahir did feel out of place or maybe knowing how good he is, he was just concerned. But he definitely has a crush/soft spot for our girl. I also liked that she gave ahir a clear cut, no nonsense reason. She does it later also. Because, Ahir did come across slightly overbearing. Shaurya has impacted Anokhi so bad that when she goes home and breaks down, she does not even want Shaan to help. She just wants to leave between cracks, unnoticed.
Shaurya 'i am so entitled, that i have no clue of anyone else's feelings' Saberwal is a fool. How can he think that just because something is casual for him, its casual for the other person. He is still worried about 'his guilt' but i think he is running away from his actual feeling of remorse about saying what he said. He still wants to not care and justify his uneasiness and so he finds ways to care in a 'platonic' manner. She is mart, she is intelligent, she is a loss to siac, its her career...as opposed to, I care about her leaving because i like her. I some where feel its harder for him because he can never feel that he wants to be in love because of his father.
Someone please tell me..WHY did alok try and get her rusticated when she was already leaving? The way Tej spoke to her, so misogynistic. And this is not how getting caught for cheating works. Private colleges cant be a dictatorship or they can get their accreditation cancelled.
Okay, it felt like universe wanted them to collide. He a proud professor not because she was the best at his subject. Its clear because the girl he liked was the best at his subject. another thing, when Anokhi gives up on herself, Shaurya comes in. Its a setup since day 1. While she is refusing to fight because of him, he is fighting for her. This is the weird balance they have. Filling in each other's gaps.
What i loved was the 'Professor Shaurya', the one who faught with logic and reasoning for a good student. No where what during that scene where he was justifying things did it feel like it was it love. It felt like Anokhi's merit was enough for his to fight and get her justice. This is why i love this scene.
Another reason i find this scene important because this was Shaurya's first proper rebellion against his family for Anokhi. You can see that Tej has understood that the dominoes have started falling and he is angry and rattled.
The last scene and that tear of paper...very ITV like 🤣
Side note 1 : I hate pulling of people but that pull and 'dont give me that crap Anokhi'...has a separate fanbase. She was caught unaware and was suddenly so aware of the lack of distance between them in the moment. That sudden shift in the tone and then shift back was done so well (kudos to kv and deba and the chemistry!)
Side note 2 : I liked that they did their research right. You cannot rusticate a student for cheating. You can only fail them in that subject and only after an inquiry committee is called and student is given a chance in front of them. So what Tej did was actually wrong
Side note 3 : Shaurya checking Anokhi's papers...bias? Should he have done that? She is brilliant but i think eventually people would have credited her association with shaurya or that could have been a good story to explore.
Side note 4 : Shastha were such parents to Anokhi. The balanced Aastha like a mother, listening and guiding. Shaan, like a father, extremely protective and ready to fight. My heart hurts for Shaurya!
First of all, this rustication debacle is so unnecessary. Anokhi was leaving Chandigarh anyways. First the cheating scandal was delaying her and now the rustication is just giving Shaurya an opportunity to play hero. If the cheating accusation is just to distract from Bebo/Kitty getting in trouble, then why can't Anokhi just get a TC and leave. If the punishment for cheating isn't rustication, what is the need to write rusticated on her TC and limit her chances in life. Would that not give her motivation to fight the charge and stay at her current institution? After all that has happened, why don't the Sabherwals understand that Anokhi isn't one to take defeat lightly? It's like they're working against their own interest.
The second issue is with the lack of due process. The admission process at SIAC was unorthodox with the majority committee members already having a vendetta against Anokhi. Then during ragging, nothing was investigated and a decision to rusticate the victim was made. There wasn't even a show to gather evidence of ragging. Now with cheating, the evidence is two crumpled up pieces of paper. The test wasn't even corrected before decisions were made. Without inquiring about the issue, Tej made a final decision on Anokhi's future that was mean spirited. Shaan asked questions about the lack of process and evidence, but still rendering penalty and punishment. He was shut down completely.
The third is Shaurya's ignorance. Shaurya really thinks Anokhi is leaving on "ek zara si baat" and him telling her to stay is absolution. When they run into each other Anokhi misunderstands that Shaurya goaded her into taking the exam so he could force her out of SIAC. Why does Anokhi think the best of everyone and everything but when it comes to Shaurya, she always sees ulterior motives. He says "main itna unethical kyu banonga" as if he wasn't totally unprofessional during the library scene.
Side notes:
~ KV's voice modulation is A-plus!! The change from "this is wrong" to "and you need to fight". The way the scene is shot is also amazing. It's the first time he's sincerely standing up for Anokhi. He doesn't like that she lectures and fights all the time, but also can't handle her defeatist attitude. "Don't give me that crap Anokhi...kahi nahi ja rahi ho tum....nahi jaane dene wala kahin tumhe"
~ Shaurya continues to defend her in her absence. This is a great quality. There's a saying that it doesn't matter what someone says in your presence, true feelings are showcased in your absence. With the board members, Shaurya says that Anokhi is brilliant and answered her exam questions not off the textbook and topped her exam. He sounded so proud. In contrast to how his sisters' take advantage of being Sabherwals and copied off the textbook.
~ Why was Ms. Biwanker the only person implicated? Why didn't' she take Alok down with her.
~ Shauya led Anokhi in to hear the changed final judgement, unlike admission and ragging where he ignored her existence. I appreciate Shaurya's genuine smile to Anokhi at the end, but I don't like the look of triumph he has as he rips up the rustication letter. He didn't do any great deed.
Just posted mine too! I'm so close to catching up!!

Same thought. I'm mad, but still enjoyed the highlights.

Reema views him as someone who's helpful. Anokhi has to worry if he'll see it as her using her "contacts" if she reached out for help from him.
Okay, Ahir did feel out of place or maybe knowing how good he is, he was just concerned. But he definitely has a crush/soft spot for our girl. Ahir really was everywhere, in every episode. No wonder Shaurya started feeling suffocated by his presence too. I liked Anokhi's lines that she won't cross. She gets into the car when its official, but not when it's a personal dosti situation.
Shaurya 'i am so entitled, that i have no clue of anyone else's feelings' Saberwal is a fool. How can he think that just because something is casual for him, its casual for the other person. Exactly! It's easier to think she's leaving an education opportunity behind than actually leaving him behind. He knows she cares about her education so leaving that behind is understandable to him. But to acknowledge that she could leave him behind because she doesn't care about him in the same way would be too much truth for him.
Someone please tell me..WHY did alok try and get her rusticated when she was already leaving? The way Tej spoke to her, so misogynistic. And this is not how getting caught for cheating works. Private colleges cant be a dictatorship or they can get their accreditation cancelled.
SIAC is certainly Tej's kingdom. I really don't understand the need to write 'rusticated' on her TC.

For sure. He always shows up in the nick of time. Saved her when running away from her shaadi, then in the train(from suicide but not really), then from the police raid, then at the stairs, then with the prospectus, then with the shoes, then ragging(in the classroom and with evidence), then riots, etc.
What i loved was the 'Professor Shaurya', the one who faught with logic and reasoning for a good student. YES!! From what we know Shaurya always just did what he wanted, but behind their back. But this was open rebellion!!
The last scene and that tear of paper...very ITV like 🤣
Side note 1 : I hate pulling of people but that pull and 'dont give me that crap Anokhi'...has a separate fanbase. She was caught unaware and was suddenly so aware of the lack of distance between them in the moment. Yes yes yes. I hate when men grab women. It's so unnatural to me. But that grab was to make her understand and to get his point across. The way his voice dropped as he spoke to her. Music to my ears! But the grab and pull towards the office didn't work for me. But you could see the confusion in Anokhi which might have been the purpose of the scene.
Side note 2 : I liked that they did their research right. You cannot rusticate a student for cheating. You can only fail them in that subject and only after an inquiry committee is called and student is given a chance in front of them. So what Tej did was actually wrong
Yes, there's an entire grievance process before kicking a student out permanently. I'm glad that was mentioned.
Side note 3 : Shaurya checking Anokhi's papers...bias? Should he have done that? She is brilliant but i think eventually people would have credited her association with shaurya or that could have been a good story to explore.
There is so much conflict of interest at SIAC! Shaurya corrects his sisters' papers too. But there is a certain code of conduct that professors follow. I know that I correct tests without looking at the names as not to be biased in grading subjective responses. Also ethical behavior is an expectation in academia.
Side note 4 : Shastha were such parents to Anokhi. The balanced Aastha like a mother, listening and guiding. Shaan, like a father, extremely protective and ready to fight. My heart hurts for Shaurya!
Especially during this rewatch, I keep seeing how they show up for Anokhi but keep failing Shaurya.
Whatever BM said about Shaurya is true.., everyone has a good opinion of him: Reema’s suggestion of consulting Shaurya sir in clearing Anokhi’s image gives it away. But how can Anokhi rely on Ss after all that has happened?
Both reema and Astha’s advice that Anokhi should clear everything before leaving is right but Anokhi having seen the fierce side of Shaurya decides otherwise there by not causing any trouble to Shaan.
Some logical questions put forward by Shaan in the disciplinary committee meeting. ‘We can’t rusticate a student for just cheating’. Why Tej why? Did Alok take over you? What happened to your common sense? Did you not think for once that a girl who fought so much for getting into the institute would misbehave with teachers? But he was clever and wanted it finish off the dirty work in Ss’s absence knowing what Ss is like. And Shaan.., where does he get all the strength to fight from when it is something to do with Anokhi? He dared to retort back that Tej’s decision was wrong!
They say it’s difficult to get yourself heard when the other person is firm in their thoughts. And so true… Anokhi tried very hard trying to convince Tej but to no avail. When she was ready to leave without taking this issue any further why did he want to put a red stamp which would jeopardise her future? Just so she doesn’t get admission in any college in Chandigarh? And no where near Ss?
All ss’s harsh words have scarred Anokhi from deep within that she is not hesitant to attribute this scandal to him. Who would believe that a committee in a well reputed college would leave out a director and professor out of the big decision they made?
An array of questions to the committee from Ss. He had all the right and logical questions ..( all through this could see Shaan nodding his head with confirmation and pride in a couple of places)
Such a big decision and you didn’t include me… I know Anokhi Bhalla… she can’t do this. yes he knows her better as a student and can judge her capabilities better compared to others in the committee. Cancel the rustication. Just without much behas he wanted a cancellation. Did Tej think he is a child to distract him away? ? Ha ha what a joke!!
Both Alok and Tej did not forget to mention that from the time she was in college she always troubled him. Aisee ladki ka saath de rahe ho? Nahin main sach ka saath de raha hoon…
Tej’s expression was to look for when he said I know her better…ive interacted with her.
After all the arguments Ss put forward neither did Ms Bhiwanker nor the rest of the members had anything in defence. Tej seems definitely to be caught in his own words when Ss said… Siac ke students aur Unke future se zyada important kuch nahin ho saktha… right bade papa?
Tej wouldn’t have behaved so foolishly if not for believing that Ss has gone to Patiala. His head hanged in shame as he had nothing in defence.
Wow!! The triumphant look Ss had when he tore away the letter… but little does he know of Anokhi’s resolute
1. I will just add a few more points I noticed given that everything has been mentioned before.
While Ahir has been all touchy feely with Anokhi all these past meetings, the latter has never really taken any notice in it as she was always focused on her business and not Ahir the man.
When Shaurya touched her arm and then pulled her towards the classroom, she is conscious of his touch, more than what he intends to do, fight for her.
2. Tej and Alok really believe they are above the common mortals. the way Tej said to Anokhi, 'Eh larki Had me rahe ab", was like telling her to stay in her place,
Also saying to her," Itna kaam nahin apne paas ke ham toumhare future ke bare me soche",
For them spoiling somebody's future just for their pride is nothing. People of Anokhi's social position is not worth their attention. Shaurya is not like them, and they know it, hence resorting to their dirty tricks in his absence.
3. Anokhi has reached a stage when she cannot trust anyone all because what Shaurya has said to her has affected her a lot. Other people treated her like trash but she could fight because she was not emotionally involved, but when it came to Shaurya, her emotions were involved, and she was deeply hurt.
