Just because of one incident he has no right to judge people like that. Plus if the makers can remember, they should also include an important scene which I'd like to witness, where Shaurya tells Shagun he never loved her 😳

Shaurya has to drown & he will drown I guess. Deep s*** & here Anokhi shouldn't be that rehab centre or the turning point for him. He needs to realize that every woman has their own self-respect, dreams, aspirations to fly high just how Anokhi told Rama during the first few episodes of the show

Self-realization is important. Jo galat hai woh galat hai!

I don't think Shaurya judged every woman who wanted a career?

Because didn't he tell Shagun that there are so many women who manage to have a career amd run their home quite well in the first or second episode? He only had an expectation of his wife being a homemaker and anything otherwise was a deal breaker which of course is where his misogyny comes in where the decision making capacity lies solely with him- where he stands now on that regard is going to be interesting to watch!

In a similar if he changes his mindset only because he is in love wouldn't Anokhi be an exception to the rule or would he gradually face the thoughts and actions that led to his ideology in the first place and once again come to a wholesome realisation that the expectation itself was unfair?

Vaish... But isnt that the whole point? His wife is the exception!!!

Shaurya does not seem to have problem with women being career oriented in general. He just wants his wife to not be career oriented.

He didn't judge Anokhi for running away from marriage. He encourages/appreciates her and insists his own sisters to study. I think the whole point is revolving around the exception to his wife.

Yes that's true! His expectation is only reserved for his wife so her being an exception does make sense, so I suppose the expectation getting removed and her being an exception would be synonymous!

Edited: also the thing about wholesome realisation is that the expectation itself is wrong because from his end its just a personal preference but actually it contributes to a collective thought that's what I meant when I said that him realising that the expectation itself is wrong would be the actual breaking of patriarchy, that his wife should be the one making a call on whether or not she wants to work that it is not about one person's baggage and expectations and equally about where the other person is coming from and what they want to do?

Am I making sense here or going around in circles? 😆

No you are making sense. A part of misogyny also reflected in the kidnapping episode during the victim blaming thing. So it is not as bad as Mr. Bhalla or Vineet. But its still there. Some deep down buried inside him.

Wonderful post Vaish! You hit all the right points. Anokhi’s hesitancy is quite valid and natural. Especially this part resonates very well

Shaurya is a misogynist and that is a fact it is just that the spectrum on which he lies in is different from that of Vineet and papaji.

You hit the nail on the head. This is as much a story of Shaurya’s introspection and gradual change in his soch, as it is of Anokhi’s fight for her dreams. We come across several such people in real life, who are innately good, they have the right intentions but fail to act or take a stance when it comes to their partner. It applies equally to both men and women.

Anokhi knows Shaurya loves her, respect wasn't a question until new things were revealed to her and Shaurya will only be able to address it when he reflects on what and where his soch is at the moment!

🙌Waiting for this with bated breath! 😊

Ah yes, the side of Shaurya we don’t really like. 😁His slow dim witted realization that his words/actions actually hurt people.(hawwww 🤪)

His wounds of abandonment run deep and he really needs to face it and question his idealogy that stems from it. He might get some help from Anokhi on this. Anokhi also needs to figure out why he behaves the way he does ,his childhood trauma and anger issues.

But slowly I think he’s getting there. When he defended Anokhi in front of Babli saying “she’s today’s woman and can do anything” he meant it. He has already begun to change for her, without realizing it.

Hey Deepti🤗

Thank you!

@blue This! This is so true! Which is this show is such a huge draw for me and I just love the way Shaurya and Anokhi are written, the former a little more than the latter😆

Vaish, you know my love for this man runs deep. I can say, from when I first started watching I never thought I would fall in love with someone like him. He has changed completely from the first episode to the 100th episode. He has evolved in a beautiful way. For those that think his soch and him haven’t changed haven't watched him close enough.

He was proud of Anokhi's exceptional performance, wanted her to make a place for herself in the world because he knew that she has a lot to contribute, he believes that she is today's girl who can fight her battle and inspire people! He already sees her as an equal because he fell for a girl that can put forward her own perspective, this was one of the qualities that he put forward while talking about what kind of a person he wants to spend his life with moments before realizing that it was "Anokhi" he wanted to spend his life with!

He has said it multiple times to Anokhi that she shouldn’t give up her dreams. I really truly believe he has changed the way he thinks and without him even knowing he has changed it. He has fell in love with a girl who fights for what is right and fights for herself.

Shaurya Sabherwal has realized that he is a changed man, he believes that his present self is worthy of Anokhi while agreeing to the fact that his past self wasn't but has he come to terms with the change?

I don’t think he has truly realized it, but will when Anokhi does bring it up to him. There are thinks he needs to own up to. His “soch” is one of them. When Anokhi asked why hasn’t he ever looked into Aastha leaving. That is a question that only Shaurya can answer, because we don’t know what lies he has been fed. So, you can’t really blame him for thinking the way he does.

Having said this, has Anokhi written off Shaurya as a man who doesn't respect women? Most definitely not her monologue as she walks away from Aastha is proof enough. She is in love with Shaurya and that is her truth! She fell for a man of principle, someone who would send his driver to escort a stranded girl to a safe place, the man who helped her get "insaaf" with an unbiased view during the ragging fiasco, the man who would run behind goons to save a stranger, the man who can fight for what's right even if it is against his own family (rustication), the man who would leave no stone unturned to apologize or set things right when he realizes his mistake (Kapurthala), the man who listens when she speaks(while she lectures him for victim blaming, the police station incident where she asks him to put his ego aside) most importantly the man who acknowledged her struggle and probably the first man in her life to ask her to do something for herself!

She said he doesn’t respect women, but when have we seen him actually disrespect women. I'm just curious, if he has, someone please let me know. I just don’t ever recall it ever happening. He has fought for her even before he realized his feelings, and said he would do it for any other person. This man knows his right from wrong, even when he does wrong, he realizes it and goes out of his way to fix his mistake.

So yes! Shaurya Sabarwal is every bit worthy of love and he has all of Anokhi's but it is his turn to show Anokhi bhalla that she is every bit worth of respect and she has all of his!

He is worth every bit of love. He never fully received love whether it was from a family member or from anyone else. Anokhi has brought that feeling out in him. Love changes a lot of things. Equations are changing. Relationships are changing. Anokhi is worth every bit of respect and love she can get. Shaurya can give that to her, ONLY if he realizes his “old soch” will get in the way.

Anokhi knows Shaurya loves her, respect wasn't a question until new things were revealed to her and Shaurya will only be able to address it when he reflects on what and where his soch is at the moment!

I also think Shagun had NO RIGHT to tell her this. This should have been Shaurya’s place to tell her all this. But now that it's brought up, I have complete faith that he WILL and IS going to convince her that he has changed. The mans loves her, she is Anokhi, and he does respect her. I cant wait to see him go after who he TRULY loves and fight for her.

Like I said, my love runs deep for Shaurya. He has shown me shades of a male that aren’t really addressed in ITV and we get to see such a beautiful character grow and evolve into something even more beautiful. I am here for this, and I am here for this growth. (kay now i leave 🤣)

Wow juwi!

I love this!

Especially the way you have put across this "There are things he needs to own up to. His “soch” is one of them"

Because he definitely needs to and he will!

And yes Shagun definitely had no right to tell her this, it wasn't her place to tell but Shaurya's to reveal or Anokhi's to ask if she wanted to.

"my love runs deep for Shaurya. He has shown me shades of a male that aren’t really addressed in ITV and we get to see such a beautiful character grow and evolve into something even more beautiful. I am here for this, and I am here for this growth"

Ditto my friend! Ditto! He is hands down the best written ML on ITV and KV's performance just breathes life into the character that his pain feels like ours and his joy too feels like ours! He is our Shara bear after all!

Regarding the respect, I know we don't like to look back at the library scene😆 but unfortunately I am going to have to bring it up, even his dismissive behaviour towards Shagun while and after calling off the engagement was disrespectful but both of these have been rectified and that's what makes Shaurya Sabarwal worth rooting for because he learns and once he does there is no looking back! His virtues definitely overpower the vices.

Point to be noted here however though and I think that is what you were trying to get at when you asked "when has he ever disrespected?" is that he does not actively seek to do so nor encourages anybody else to do so. And precisely why he is quick to correct himself too!
