Both Shaurya and Anokhi's parents are missing from the show. I get this is a youth based show but Shakhi's parents are the ones who make them.
Anokhi's determination to prove her worth to her father and eliminate her mother's sorrows was the reason she came to SIAC. She faced abuse from her father yet she yearns to hear his voice. I wish they showed how Rami Bhalla is doing these days. Is he still his arrogant self. Does he regret his behaviour to his daughter? We have not seen Anokhi calling Rama in a long time. Does Rama suffer no guilt for what Raja has done? Did the Bhallas try to find out how Aastha is doing. What is Raja upto these days? A liitle bit of Kapurthala would not have harmed the story.
Now coming to Shaurya's parents. They have already been labelled as the worst parents on itv by some. (not here, but on SM), but they are unique in their own ways. They are the bridge that connects Shaurya and Anokhi. Had it not been for them, Anokhi could never get in SIAC. They are deeply flawed, still they have a charm. Their relationship with their son is not perfect in any sense but it is what attracts me to their dynamics. There is anger of abandonment, their is yearning for love, there is pain of separation, their is web of misunderstanding. The simmering tension, the explosive tashan between Shaurya and his parents gives a different edge to this story. Their unconditional love for Anokhi has its own beauty. I still remember how Aastha stood firm and fought with Raman Bhalla for the rights of his daughter. When Anokhi lost all hopes after getting humiliated by everyone in SIAC, it was Aastha who came and held her hand, gave her strength to fight. The way Shaan fought with everyone when Anokhi was accused of calling the media is one of the few moments where his character shone.
I don't know when we will get to see Aastha and Shaan again. The show and ShaKhi seems incomplete without these imperfect parents. Though it is totally my POV.
