I completely understand where you are coming from, decoding a character and justifying a wrong act are two different things and often get mixed up just like how criticising a character's action is immediately called out as hating the character.
But I am loving these discussions and myriad perspectives that are coming in!

Seriously I too had to put a disclaimer before posting something...people take it in wrong way other wise. I totally get the insight into his character and this too totally makes sense. Good Job.
I always make sure I mention that, I've learnt it the hard way😕
But people of the forum are pretty open to the different opinions, so that's great!

Yet another brilliant post Keshni 🤗
I was actually going to request if you could do this for Shaurya just like how you did for our pyaari didi 😆
I really enjoyed reading the cause and effect of Shaurya's actions, it totally makes sense as to how his mind has started a defense mechanism regarding his growing closeness to Anokhi and the dilemma between wanting to come closer to safeguarding his own heart based on his pre concieved notions on based on her association with Aastha.
Hey there🤗
How do I address you?😆
Lo aapke kehne se pehle hi, maine aapki murad puri karli😆
Maine to Didi ka diagnosis bhi kar diya tha🤣
But, Shaurya is much more complex and there are layers and layers to uncover, I believe. To that effect, even Anokhi is a complex character because of her past, but I think makers will dwell onto that much later.
I'm glad you enjoyed this post. I did too, while writing about it.
Shaurya's dilemma will be there until and unless he resolve certain prominent issues about his childhood. It's not only Devi's upbringing that shaped up that Soch that Shaurya has. There was a certain void in his life, in his mind with the absence of his parents and I think Devi provided him with this theory and his brain accepted that as the truth to fill that vacuum in his life and to maintain the his sanity. Over the years, that belief was reinforced over and over again. Now that someone to challenge him has come, he has gone haywire, his emotions is all over the place, his mouth follows his brain as he spews venom, but his heart cannot see her tears.

@bold I am hoping for the same!
You can address me as Vaishali or Vaish, anything goes (anything... anything 🤣)
Tbh it is Shaurya, KV's portrayal of him and the way he has been written so far that is making ne hold on to the show. It's going to be interesting to watch as the layers come down one by one!

I won't put you in the Anything-zone🤣🤣
I'll go with Vaish
True, KV is living Shaurya's character, the way he enacted the confusing emotions was so on point😳
I love how despite what is shown in the show, how much we adore Shaurya & Anokhi as ShaKhi, as a fandom in this platform we are very sensible & talk to eo through posts about the real problem with men with such a choti soch, no matter how educated they might be. Your post was intelligent put forth.
That one word you used, 'defense mechanism' is exactly what hit my mind when I saw him changing. The layers & layers of pain within Shaurya & the inability to express himself is coming out in the most gruesome way & like you mentioned, we are in for an intense set of episodes 😊
WOW!
That was so beautiful to read and to understand. I must say you were very skilled with words and can analyze so well too! So thought provoking and insightful.
Thank you for sharing with us!
So I understand the origins of his outburst and based on what you said, how do you foresee an apology/realization from him on what he has said and done? At this point his entire world is stirred up - his feelings, emotions, insecurities, broken childhood, choti soch that lead up to this outburst, how will he ever, if, come to the realization? I'd be interested in your thoughts before we see how it goes.
With these thoughts running in his mind, I wonder what is going to change his opinion...? What will compel him to deliver a heart felt apology when this ends. Is he really going to change his opinion about Anokhi's character or is it a temporary regret?
But I love the way you have penned his defense and mental barriers. It is so crisp and shed light on Shaurya's mentality. His insecurities have been ignored for so long, now they are erupting out of the blue.
Thank you Kesh 🤗
See, Shaurya has what we call limiting beliefs (which generally holds you back). He'll first need to realise that he has those limiting beliefs. This is what this track should be about. It could be a temporary regret or it might be because he would think that Anokhi is an exception to his belief, hence the apology. Even if its a temporary regret and he apologises to her, there would be a slow realisation afterwards Anokhi is very different from what he has thought of her. He will not shell his entire belief system for her in the beginning but will just gk ahead with the feeling that she is different.
Generally, that would be a start of it because it will lead to the idea that there are exceptions to the rule. Initially that's how it'll be, and should be, I believe. Once that is established, it will lead to the realisation that maybe there are other girls as well (that may include his mom) who can be exceptions. Maybe Anokhi's thoughts in the future tracks will force him for think about that. Her soch will conflict with his at every point.
Gradually that limiting belief would be deconstructed and he'll be able to see the bigger picture.
Maybe along the way, he'll have to look into himself - into the way his childhood still affects him and plague his thoughts. He'll have to introspect and maybe see a therapist (highly unlikely, because this is ITV), but in general, he'd have to have a talk with his parents and forgive them, not for them, but for himself. Because clearly, he loves them a lot.
He also needs to learn to love himself. That is very important. He tends to think that he is a rubbish that can be used and thrown ( the thing he said yesterday, that im rich and famous as well stems from that belief that anyone can use him and discard him later. He also said told Astha that he felt like a piece of rubbish that she could use and throw as per her convinience). Its only when he manages to love himself, that he would be able to love her as she deserves.

Very nicely put. Call it belief perseverence, call it cognitive dissonance, Shaurya seems to shunt out part of information that could challenge his belief to save himself from internal conflict. Like if Aastha was a social climber, why did she leave the comforts and riches of Sabharwal house for a more difficult life. If education was only a pretense for her, how did she manage to earn a livelihood as a professor.
He may not know Anokhi's backstory yet, so I don't know if he will continue to hold such beliefs for her once he learns the truth.
Shaurya needs to follow the following steps to forge a healthy relationship with people around him, not just Anokhi.
1. Visit a therapist
2. Talk to Aastha about Anokhi's past.
3. Talk to Aastha with an open mind and ask her why she had to leave. I think he still doesn't know the entire story.
4. Make a visit to Kapurthala, meet both Aastha's and Anokhi's parents.
5. Do some study on postmodernism and feminism.
6. Introspect, introspect, introspect
7. Apologise to Shagun for his unreasonable demand.
8. Apologise to Anokhi properly for all that he said.
I think now he will move more pertinently into the cognitive dissonance realm where there'll definitely be some intense angst given that he'll have to deal with 2 inconsistent beliefs.
Mental health is unfortunately not emphasised upon in ITV. I would be pleasantly happy if they could show Shaurya getting some sessions.
Introspection is really key for his to shed his beliefs.
Agree with all your points👍🏼
