About the show, Im really skeptical of the show rn. Why did Shankha and Mohor even marry? Did Shakha continue to be possessive till the level , if anyone touches her shoulder etc etc he gets uncomfortable?

Mohor is pathetic now and to say it frankly it is not right to marry such an insecure and possessive person. It will be better if they show shourya growth or else if followed like mohor it will be pathetic.I will wait till how they show the love story. The family of shourya is way too toxic.

True . Shaurya's fam is so freaking toxic. Any girl, let alone Anokhi, dosen't deserve to go to the hellhole.

Chalo theel hai, pyaar ke liye ek baari she will get married and go there , but if Shaurya continues this doubting her character game, I will dump the show. Nothing is more toxic than that.

I think SAAK's production house is the same PH that produced 'Maryada lekin kab tak' and they did a good job with it, stuck to the concept and ended it in a year or so. I don't know about about their other shows have they produced anything extremely regressive?

Because once someone is pushed to the brink of suicide there is no coming back, that kind of a relationship cannot heal and shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Also is this a common trope in Bengali shows? Because didn't Imon also attempt suicide due to fidelity issues in kusum dola?

I personally want mohor to dump shankha and never look back, nothing justifies his behavior, not even cen and other psychological issues, I would never marry someone like him though how much I love him or vice versa, marriage should be something where trust respect and love all are equally important, if there is no trust and respect in a relationship in my opinion it should be broken however hurt you are, it's better to be alone rather than being in a toxic relationship, shankha's family and shrestha are way too toxic, and shankha's upbringing creates all the trouble, yes his thinking and behavior changed drastically due to mohor but still there are some prejudice in him, but the characterisation of the lead has many things to explore, if saakk can show it beautifully then it will be revolutionary, it has plotting against mohor but no saas bahu drama or kitchen politics, that's a plus and another is they are showing all relevant issues girls face everyday, so that's definitely something good to look for, my only grievances are butchering the characters and poor execution and dialogue and no strong punishment for culprits, but saakk showed different things like the ragging issue or the riot scene and not the silly protest, so I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it will be better than og

They married because they love each other truly and way too much, nobody can make them happy except each other, they both complete each other, both are flawed and when they are together they are their best version, that's why they married, both are jealous sad and heartbroken without each other, so they needed to be together just to be happy, yes shankha is still possessive but after marriage he doesn't taunt her or the other people, he just says to mohor that I don't like it when people are attracted to you, I feel jealous and I want you to know that I can't share with you anyone, but he stopped giving Tana and insulting other people, that's a progress ,he just complains to her that people are eyeing her and he is jealous, it's cute, not very toxic like ago

Only mohor understands shankha and see his original self over his facade of indifference and strict behavior, she can read all his emotions and feelings and what is he exactly thinking because shankha always says things in a fit of rage which he never means from his heart, he just can't express what he actually wants to say and ends up saying completely different things than what he actually meant, that's why in the temple shankha told mohor how come you understand me so well and not even my mom, you know me for a year still you understand me perfectly but my own people doesn't understand me, then mohor said that's because of ur hot and cold behavior, sometimes you are ur true self but then you end up hurting people whom you love dearly, he said I am like this mohor, I'm hungry for love only, never leave me alone, he has way too much emotional baggage and he can only show his true self to mohor, and about mohor if there was no shankha she would never got her footing in that city because she had many obstacles and shankha guided her always showing right path, mohor is very impulsive headstrong and stubborn, moreover she is very innocent, if shankha was not there for her she would be in trouble every day, they both needed each other to live a happy and fulfilling life

In my opinion, Shankho needed Mohor because only she could understand him but Mohor never needed him. All the problems that Shankho saved Mohor from were actually created by his family and Srestha in the first place. Poor Mohor would have a much more smoother life if she was not involved with Shankho. She was smart, talented, Intelligent and resourceful. She could have managed fine without him. Shankho needed to go to a therapist like Shaurya does. No Mohor or Anokhi should be burdened with understanding them and tolerating their tantrums. Yes, they can provide them support but when push comes to shove, they should just get out of the toxic relationship to keep their sanity intact.

I have been following DJ'S shows since Just Mohabbat back in late nineties. I was a kid then. After that there was Jassi, Maryada, Parrvarish. All pathbreaking shows. They have mostly dealt in urban, progressive dramas. But here the channel is star plus. So I don't know how progressive they are allowed to be. Though Maryada was also in star but it came late in the night.

@bold: That seems to be a common trope in Leena gangopadhyay helmed shows. That, and a guy torn between two girls, or one of the characters suffering from a terminal disease.

I am hoping that star will not interefere much because the show is generating viewership especially digitally so I think they might either change the time slot or move it completely to hotstar if they want to launch something new. Hopefully 😆
