Devyani does have a point about not being able to trust people now... While Anu's intention was definitely good.. what she did was totally wrong on so many levels... she does have the tendency to hide things and think that her solutions are correct even when they dont fully make sense... so Devyani's hurt is very valid... true she also didnt tell Anushka explicitly about Rajat... but initially she was really open about her infatuation with rajat.. she started disgusiign it once she felt Anushka does not like Rajat etc... and Anushka initially accepting what seemed to be the truth is also okay and Anushka deciding she cannot marry Rajat because Devyani also loves him is also okay.. But Anushka forcing a guy who does not love Devyani to marry her by giving a kasam was totally wrong... I hope they dont keep showing Anushka like that... not that she has to be shown as selfish or anything... but not think she knows best in everything and that being mahaan is the solution to all problems... because what she did was really charity and no girl would like to be married to a guy who loves another person... it is different if that love was no longer there ... but when the guy still feels so much for the other person and when that person is going to be around all through life how is that correct!! I really think anushka's definition of right and wrong is skewedwhen it comes to her family... she looks at short term happiness always as against the lasting one .. she has screwed up herself and rajat and herself and devyani's relationship now... and she only has her attittude of knowing to solve everything and never taking any one else's advice only to blame!!! for all the irritation that devyani caused in the run up to this track to me she comes out looking tons better than everyone else in this whole fiasco!

It also reminds me of a few other times I was suprised by what I thought Anu's character would do and what she actually did - when Alka tells Rohan about Rajeev- and she is worried if she did the wrong thing... Anu without knowing what has happened already says it would be wrong to tell about Rajeev because if rishta breaks because of that it will hurt papa!!! she has no objective definition of right and wrong when it comes to such things at all! what alka did was the right thing at that time... but to Anu it felt that the right thing to do was to hide the truth and then get the shaadi done so it does not hurt papa.. i know there are many people who does that in real life... so I am not saying it is not realistic... but that the way they have sketched anu's character as someone who does right always... it didnt sit very well to see her saying it is fine to hide... when alka comes to her next time with rajeev's problems also she never says that alka should have told rohan... I think that same pattern is repeating this time also... but this time it will finally break the trust devyani has on anu ... which she keeps saying that bhagwan se zyada humein tumpe bharosa hai...

choosing to tell people would ahve been the difficult thing to do... but it was the right thing and once again anu chose to take the easy way out by not rufflign feathers except her own and the guy who loved her...

while I do love to see anu being the glue she has been to the family I do hope they dont keep showing her do these kind of stupid things all the time.. else it is like she never learnt anything from any of the earlier fiascos...

and just to clarify I started watching this because i liked anu and rajat in some random episode i watched... but I am very disappointed right now with anu's characterisation

I agree with you 200%.. Anu is shown to be selfless but her definition of right and wrong is so blur and sketchy, that mostly she ends up taking the wrong decisions. A lie is never hidden for long. It stays bidding its time, waiting to be revealed. In Rajeev's case she had to open up to her father. It would have cushioned the blow to a great extent but no Anu took matters in her own hands and gave him a far more severe blow than the one he would have hurt.

In Devyai's case she was wrong again. Her one decision made Devyani come out like a hero in this whole fiasco like you said. I really hope they dont show Anu playing god often because unlike other characters of this category, Anu really ends up taking the wrong decisions, good intentions be damned
