show starts with shakuntala about to jump off the cliff. RK stops her and says that didnt she think what RK would go through if she would have died. he also said that she was more important than anything to him. then they return to ashram. premwada tells her to rest. she says that she feels uncomfortable in the room and they should go out. premwada agrees and they go out shaku picks up some flowers which are brought to her by the wind. she is walking along holding the flowers thinking of dushyant. then the rishi enters ashram and calls to shaku. shaku is so lost in her thoughts that she doesn't notice. rishi waits but then gets angry and curses shaku that whoever she was thinking about will forget her completely. shaku snaps out of her thought first she is shocked. the rishi starts leaving shaku rushes to him and begs for his pardon. rishi is angry and says that first she insults him and now she asks for pardon? shaku says it was a big mistake and she hadnt noticed him and rishi should tke back his curse. rishi says that once he has given the curse it "will" be fulfilled and no one can stop it. the person in her thoughts will forget all about her.

dush argues with his father about shaku being his daughter in law. mahraj is against it. dush leaves the room and is getting on his horse when his father comes in front of him and says that he should not go after the rishi kanya. if he does he will no longer be prince of hastinapur his son and have no access to treasury or anything else. he can no longer return to this mahal. dush does not mind and proudly says that now there is no difference between him and shakuntala (oh my god i loove his confidence and devotion). then he leaves
