I am writing this letter as a compilation of thoughts from the various fans of the group. This is our collective view point. We respectfully submit this for your consideration.
Shakti, a show we all are addicted to. We got into it because it was said to be "different" that the other shows and also because of Rubina Dilaik and Vivian Dsena, who we have followed since their first shows. As the story evolved, we got glued to the suspense around Saumya. Kidnaping track, leading to the forced marriage of Harman and Saumya was the highlight. This was followed by the climax of revelation of Saumya's identity of being a "kinnar to Saumya and then to Harman. We all got addicted and that is reflected in the TRPs for the show.
We are also loving the current track of Angry Harman and troubled Saumya; both trying to deal with this new found information that has caused turmoil in their lives. But unfortunately, we are hearing about possible tracks where Surbhi would be brought close to Harman or b/w Harman Saumya whom we lovingly call HaYa. WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT THAT.
The story of Shakti is about Saumya, accepting her identity and learning to deal with her own imperfections.
The story of Shakti is about dealing with incorrect use of the word transgender, prejudices, misconceptions, misunderstandings, of a society where an imperfection is unacceptable, where the parent is unable to accept a child with a defect or getting the right help
The story is about being HUMAN and what it really means.
The story is about Harman as a protector of Saumya who in spite of knowing the truth loves Saumya and want to spend his life with her.
The story is about how Harman and Saumya become strong and the development in their relationship from love to hate and back to love .It's about intensity of HaYa relationship
t The concept that is chosen is complex and has an important message. We applaud you for that and have chosen to be with you in this journey, for the long haul. We look forward to the episodes every day. We do understand that this is a TV serial, a daily soap where drama needs to be created to keep the audience glued to the show. . However the story tracks need to be palatable to the audience. The story that is most appealing is that of Harman and Saumya, a love story woven in the midst of this social concept. Harman after a phase of anger and his disappointment, sees the innocence of Saumya, realizes she herself is unknown of her identity and gradually falls in love with Saumya. We want to see Saumya struggling with her identity and Harman coming through and becoming her Shakti.
Yes, there can be other issues that are brought forward, Maninder acceptance of Saumya; parents realizing Saumya was incorrectly diagnosed and going through a guilt trip of restricting her life; Preeto's back story, Ravis' issue, issue around factory and workers and inheritance and Saumya and Harman helping to resolve these and character development of Harman in this process. We want to see the intensity and development of relationship of Harman and Saumya as they also face outside challenges, and they putting pressure on their relationship.
But we seeing Surbhi with Harman will be completely unpalatable and unacceptable (these tracks have been tried before and there is no novelty in this). Shakti is a unique show with its USP being Harman and Saumya love story in the backdrop of Saumya's struggle with her identity.
Please, it is a request, a plea, that we want the story of Harman and Saumya with Vivian Dsena and Rubina Dilaik .
