After falling flat with turing Simar into a fly in Sasural Simar Ka, Colorshas now gone ahead and had a transgender in Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. In an era wherein there is a huge competition with respect to what will sell and what will not, Colors is looking too desperate to grab eyeballs. The channel along with Rashmi Sharma Productions have to be applauded for trying a concept like Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaan Ki, but then it just ends there because it's sad to see the way they have gone ahead and treated the entire subject. As a concept its great, but then what's sad is the way they have dealt with it such a sensitive and real issue. A transgender has loads of physical issues, but then this girl Soumya Singh (Rubina Dilaik), looking stunning. In fact, she could be every man's fantasy. Oops!! To make matters even more ridiculed and farfetched, the girl who should be about 22, has not realised that she is different. I am sure the moment one reaches purity, one would know that there is something wrong with him or her, but here things were a normal as it gets. Also, what's juvenile is the fact that how can a parent agree to marrying their daughter / son, knowing that she is a transgender or a eunuch. I do understand that lots of parents do force their son's to get married because of the pressures of the so called society, but then who can the child be oblivion with her or her sexuality. Also, once the family will get to know which husband / boyfriend on earth will stand up for such a girl. Which, mother in this world will let her transgender daughter get married to a guy who is every women's dream. Nimmy Kaur ( Reena Kapoor) ideally should have stopped her daughter, Soumya Singh ( Rubina Dilaik) from getting married to Harman Singh ( Vivian Dsena). Also, what was Soumya's father, Maninder Singh ( Ayub Khan) doing all this while. He should have been man enough to walk up to Harman's parents, Harak Singh ( Sudesh Berry) and Preeto Singh ( Kamya Punjabi), and tell them the truth. My appeal to all the makers is that if you are walking on a different line, then let the manifestation be as different as it should be because a different concept commands a diffident treatment. We have issues of acid attach women, rape victims and even women who have been divorced being accepted by society and here we are talking about a transgender and her love story. Why are we taking the viewers for granted. Biologically, women are never eunuch's, it's a male phenomenon. Are we redefining the human anatomy here or are you trying to say that that two guys have got married. Hat's off to the team for being for incipit and juvenile. All said and done, if at all you have a different show, then have the guts to treat it differently and not get into the same mundane household issues. It's really sad to see what's going on television in the name of this so-called creativity.
p.s
the guy is a mess even on twitter.
