KT was having a hard time narrowing his eyes at his wife, but it was impossible to do so, when she was making such cute faces at him. It was a test of his acting skills as he looked at his wife, practically through slits for eyes.
"KTji, I am fine, please let me finish the invitation cards," He didn't turn to look at the decorated papers, but continued to stare at his partner....his wife.
"No!" He spoke, adamant. Hey, don't you dare blame him or call him a dominating husband, he had seen his wife faint a few hours ago because she had to listen to his mother and keep a fast for him, like the tyaag ki murti that she is, and had refused to eat or drink anything and was working (and fainting)
"I swear to God, Preetiji, you move one muscle and I will..."
She turned to look at him, her eyebrows arched and challenged him to speak further and he shut his trap.
"Please, take the day off!"
"I promised Rathoreji that I will make cards and if I don't finish them today, we won't be able to deliver them on time," she whined in response, pouting her lips that almost drove KT into insanity.
He looked at her for a few seconds, grabbed the decorated papers and sat opposite her, on the floor, called for Sheena, who grabbed the rest of the stationary and the two made the cards, missing the small smile on Preeti's face.
---------
Preeti looked at her husband, angrily.
"What do you mean when you say that I will change my last name,"
"I just thought..."
"No KTji, Preeti Tiberwaal is your wife, Preeti Jindal is your business partner, and before anything else, we are business partners!"
"What about those times you just order me around like a wife!" She opened and closed her mouth,
like a fish, trying to find her way around this loophole in logic.
"Well, that's sometimes, but I don't want to lose my last name, the name that connects me to Juhi, Buasa, Tarun, and... My late husband," She mumbled and looked down, tears sparkling in her eyes. KT immediately felt a rush of guilt and he gulped.
"Fine! But at least consider PJT!"
She looked at him in confusion and Sheena, yes, the poor girl had been there, watching the two have a yelling match for the last ten minutes, almost giggled at the absurdity of the acronym.
"Preeti Jindal Tiberwaal," He explained.
"That is a very good idea sir," She nodded. If it had been any other day, she would have left them to discuss the topic, but now she had lawyers yelling at her for Preeti's name on the legal documents and hence, decided to stick around till she had it.
"No, it's not good," Preeti looked aghast. She was so horrified that Sheena shut up immediately and ducked her head to stop her laughter from escaping her mouth.
"Mrs Preeti Jindal, you are horrifyingly scary and an amazing woman, the only two reason you can do whatever you wish to do, with your name, but I will call you Preeti Tiberwaal in private because I am proud of marrying you, the rash decision I took and I will never regret it, and I can't get enough of how beautiful your name sounds with my last name," he looked at her, huffing. Sheena and Preeti gaped at him, their mouths hanging open. "Not that Preeti Jindal sounds bad," he ended his tirade and looked at his wife, who had tears in her eyes. Sheena, left when she finally got the unspoken confirmation that Preeti wouldn't change her name, and she turned to look at her bosses, who looked super cute with Preeti hugging a shocked KT.
------
"Were you a human or a clock in your previous birth?" Preeti barked at KT, after a night of sleeplessness. She wouldn't have shared the bed with, but the couch needed repairing and all the mattresses had mysteriously disappeared.
"You, Mrs Preeti Tiberwaal, are over exaggerating!"
"I am not, you kicked me out of the bed five times and how do you even sleep with your body weight on your knees, it should be humanly impossible," She unconsciously rubbed her arm that she had hurt during one of her falls last night.
"That.. is not true!" She looked at him, in shock. The amount of denial this man possessed was so shocking!
"Well, then explain the video,"
"You took it from various angles" He pressed the horn, a little more harshly than required and looked at the pedestrian who would have died under his car.
"At least drive properly," Preeti huffed and looked at the other side.
"I can drive, thank you very much,"
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
He turned to look at his wife, who was looking outside the window of the car. Sometimes, he couldn't believe that she could carry in this much anger in her. It was as if it was hidden somewhere behind her calm and composure, but then he realized that she had never expressed herself, not until now, and he smiled to himself realising that he was the only one in the whole world she could get angry at, without inhibitions, even for such silly things. He decided to keep this fight up, curious how far they could go. Spoiler alert, in a few seconds, Preeti turned and apologized, making him chuckle and accepting her apologizing and promising to try to not to sleep like a baby that night, and, he did manage to keep his promise, by not sleeping at all, instead, working on his six month anniversary of Shaadi Mubarak for his business partner Mrs Preeti Jindal Tiberwaal.
