Good morning forum members,

I have been very busy working continously for Baakiyalakshmi and it has drained me of all my sense and sensibilities. After nearly 20 days of non-stop work my mind and more importantly my soul feels like the parched and dried up river bed that runs through a desert. I confess that everyday, I sit before the computer and try to dig deep into my thoughts hoping to find a few sentences to write but like that proverbial deep well that is sunk in a desert, I come up with muddled and incoherent thoughts like that muddy water that the desert gurgles out. Water but unfit to drink. Thoughts but unfit and too vague to write about.

Sometimes a break does a person good for it gives time to rethink, re evaluate their story and its ensuing chapters. Old bridges have to be broken down and new bridges have to be built upon new foundations and with new designs.

The badge proclaims 17 years of my journey in this forum and yet, every day feels like the start of a new journey.

I am here and hope to be here for another 17 years and hopefully my writing and my stories will get better and better with the passing years.

The story of Avan, Aval Adhu until now

In the quiet fictional town called Kumarapalayam that lies 30 km outside Madurai lives our hero Ravi Kumar who is the headmaster of the government school in that small village town. He is a man in his early 40s who has remained unmarried and has done so for a reason.

Long ago he had fallen in love with a Bengali girl called Madhurima but sadly, his cousin sister Meenakshi who is madly in love with him destroys their love along with their lives. Meenakshi is not a bad person but her possessiveness and jealousy that stems and flows because of her love for Ravi leads her to do evil things.

It has been 25 years since Ravi and Madhurima were separated by a mysterious incident in which Meenakshi's brother went missing and has never been found. Into this small sleepy town that is called Kumarapalayam enters Gayatri who works as a freelance photographer for world travel magazines and nature magazines.

She has come to Kumarapalayam to do a detailed photoshoot about the ancient Shiva temple that lies just outside the village and is now protected by the Archeological Department.

As fate would have it, Gayatri falls for Ravi who holds back but in the end capitulates and begins to reciprocate and in the end falls for her for he finds something about her terribly familiar and nostalgic.

But he does not know that Gayatri is the stepdaughter of the woman for whose love he has been pining for more than 25 years. Fate begins to play its strange and cruel games and into this already confusing charade called life enters Meenakshi who is still pining for Ravi who decides to murder Gayatri while she is in Kodaikanal after following Ravi and both of them meet once again in Parthiban and Daksha's resort named Whispering Rocks. Meenakshi sends a Paliyan tribal along with a few north Indian thugs to eliminate Gayatri but Ravi kills him and a few others, but he himself is stabbed with a poisonous knife and the only person who can save him is Madhu who returns after 25 years.

Meanwhile, Gayatri realizing that her love for Ravi is placing all of them in danger leaves Madurai and flies away to Mumbai and soon leaves the country.

Madhu has come on her own and alone to Madurai but she has one person who is in charge of her security and who has been placed there by Raman our hero from Jannal Oram.

That person is Azhagan " The boy who went into the dark and came back with light " and he has come there for a reason and that reason is to find the man called " Raja Durai " the last emperor of the once famous and mighty Chola empire.

An ancient and secret war has been waging between the forces of light and dark and between angels and demons and finally, after 800 years, the foes will meet once again to do battle.

Avan, Aval Adhu 394

“What you do, the way you think makes you beautiful.”

Ravi introduced Brahman Ganesan to Madhu who immediately realized the dynamics of the relationship that lay between master and student and looked at the love of her life with eyes full of pride and thought, ' Jaanu, you are a mentor, guardian, and protector to hundreds of children. But, I am here now and I have come now, and from this moment on I am going to be your guardian and protector. I am going to ensconce you with my love and my protection and watch over you until I cannot watch over you.'

' Madhu, Madhu, Madhurima Sil ' Ravi called out to her name, and shaking herself out of her reverie, she looked at him and asked, ' What Jaanu? What is wrong?'

A slight smile bloomed on his lips revealing slightly his white teeth and reminded Madhu of the monsoon when lightning streaked through dark clouds that were pregnant with hordes of raindrop babies.

Ravi stood staring at Madhu who was staring at him with a glazed look in her eyes and turned to Ganesan who had tapped him to get his attention.

His eyes asked quietly 'Enna' and Ganesan blushing furiously pointed to his own chest and mouthed, ' Love. Master. Full love' and gave him a two-thumb signal to signal his Ok.

Ravi frowned at his ward and wondered how and what he knew about love that gave him the authority and guts to speak about it and that too to him.

As if reading his thoughts, Ganesan quickly jumped into the auto and ignited the engine, and the noise that the tiny diesel engine made broke the reveries of Madhu in whose soul the engines of love and life had ignited once again after so many years.

Ravi raised his left hand and said, ' After you, my lady ' and climbed in after Madhu had got into the auto and asked her, ' Are you sure that you want to travel in this auto? The car looks really comfortable and it has air conditioning along with that lady who looks like she is an army by herself.'

Madhu nodded, ' My thoughts exactly. She too likes a Spartan who can single-handedly take on the whole world and do that without breaking a sweat.'

Turning to Ravi, ' Jaanu, I think that our army is secretly running some kind of special op teams that are on par or even better than the best commando teams belonging to the most powerful nations in this world.'

Ravi looked at Madhu but his face was slightly grim in thought and sans the smile and whispered, ' There is something about this lady and the other gentleman that reminds me of some story or incident.'

' But Jaanu, you have just met them. It is obvious who they work for and that makes them army property. So, how could they remind you of something or some story.'

Ravi shook his head, ' It's not just them but that gentleman's name. Kavin. I am sure I have heard that name somewhere but I am just not able to recollect that memory.'

Taking his right hand in her arms, Madhu placed her head on his shoulder and whispered, ' Jaanu, I cannot believe it. I am finally home and where my heart and soul are and she looked into his eyes with shining eyes and a shining soul and in a soft voice whispered, ' Thank you, Jaanu.'

Universal laws of motion and motion sickness

Everything that you see in this universe is bound by gravity to another object. This very own planet that we call home is bound to the sun through the pull of our star's gravity and similarly, our only moon is bound to its own parent that we call Mother Earth.

We, earthlings, dance around the sun with the other 8 planets and their moons along with countless other bodies, large and small. Our parent star, the sun along with its large extended family of planets, moons, asteroids, meteors, and other still-to-be-discovered objects orbits around our own parent Galaxy that we call the Milky Way. Man just can't seem to shake off that womb and t.t and n.p connection.

Everything in this Universe is bound to another by gravity and the pull of another body.

We humans. Nay, I shall desist from using anything in general and continue to introspect about the present and the future while retrospecting on the past. Past, well people, time is zipping by so fast that sometimes I wonder if I and the present dimension will slip away with the time that is moving away from me at such an incredible speed.

Bodies, Gravity, Push and pull, and time define the days of my life.

Inside my head, among the billions of neurons that are their own galaxies and giant stars, there is one gravitational force, a strong magnetic pull that never ceases and constantly strives to pull me into its heart which is a supermassive black hole.

Yes. A supermassive black hole from which nothing escapes. Not even light waves which right now according to human sciences hold the gold medal for moving at the greatest speed. 300,000 km per second.

But one thing, one thing human in nature comes close to matching that mythical speed. The speed of thought.

The evening found us in the large sitting room in various states of nirvana that had been achieved through various spirits. Some were local while others had traveled across oceans and continents to fill us with their single and double malts and generally doing what men of all ages do. Say, and say again and repeat again old stained and stale bawdy jokes about sex and, sorry more sex.

The five-man army ranged from the early 50s to the mid and late 50s and all our mates were in the proverbial kitchen doing the proverbial fairer sex thing.

I am not sure about it but sometimes I do wonder if women gossip, groan, and moan about their lives and partners and compare notes. We men bitch like nobody's business and sometimes far worse than the members of the fairer sex.

Somebody threw up that perennial question about manhood into the mix, ' I hope you guys are seeing some action for I am not. Wife has shut down shop.'

Pin-drop silence. Then the boldest among us and also the smallest among us, squealed, ' Consider yourself lucky, bro. No need to struggle to raise the flag anymore.'

A huge sigh of relief and then various strategies and master plans were laid out in the open, shared, discussed, and debated.

Then suddenly one stared at me and asked boldly, ' How are you coping? You have been married for a long time now? Don't you get bored sometimes?'

I smiled and said, 'Well, I do get bored and then there are those times when I am not in the mood and when she is in the mood...... BUT..'

All of them looked at me with their big, drunk, and droopy eyes and I thought for a second if this is how the followers of Buddha stared at their master when he was about to deliver an answer to the most difficult questions that had been asked of him.

I flashed them a shy and tired smile and said, ' I play games ' and tapping my hard skull ' Up here. I play games up here.'

All of them exchanged glances and I heard their collective thoughts that were unspoken. ' Achtung! Satish is going to deliver a sermon.'

Emptying the spirits that had traveled from Scotland to Chennai into my gob, I waited for them to burn their way through my pipes and said, ' I bet it is the same thing, that you dogs do.'

' Whaat?'

' I fantasize about other women while doing it. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't and all that depends on the moment and the mood and the need.'

All of them groaned and looked at me sadly, ' You are right. All of us do that.'

Then the smallest and the boldest unified in one body spoke again, ' Hey, guys. Okay, but what about them folk? Our ladies, what about them? Do they fantasize too?'

Then all of us changed the topic and our expressions, and thoughts faster than the speed of light as our bosses came laden with trays full of stuff that you call food.

Light vs thought. Mood, need vs fantasies.

The whole world is a stage indeed and we are all actors playing different roles and characters.

But the dramas between the sheets are the toughest ones to play and play repeatedly and successfully.

in utero

I have seen how newborns react to the stimuli that assault them as they emerge from the darkness of their mother's womb into the open womb of their new mother. The name is Earth. Mother Earth. From their moment of conception after the contact between their parents X and Y, they have traveled for nearly 10 months in the darkness of their genesis chamber. From takeoff to journey and to land the time required is ten months. Although there are some journeys that crash and burn on takeoff and some explode in flight and some do fly and reach their destinations in a state of DOA ( Dead on arrival).

Some vessels are just that, Vessels that begin and end their journey without any cargo of substance. They waste precious fuel on their journeys and come and go without any purpose or clarity. Yes, them vessels, who follow the threefold principle. Eat, sleep, shit, and live to do those three things again and again along with three square meals a day.

Agreed that their business is not my business but how long can one keep their eyes, lips, and ears closed to outside stimuli look up longingly at the skies, and whisper, ' God, help me, please.'

Amidst all the commotions and emotions of life's journey, there is one emotion that can transport you to a different world and protect you from the outside world by placing you in its protective sheath and bubble. Love.

Love makes it bearable and arms you with motivation and belief. Love and its devotion is another womb that we slip into even as we slip out of our mother's womb.

After ten months of a passage called " In Utero," the newborn, is cuddled once again in a new womb that is the arms of its parents.

From the very first time, a baby hears its mother's voice and the beat of its mother's heart, it knows what love is and sadly maybe even in that stage, it knows what love is not.

Thomas Jefferson supposedly penned the words " All men are created equal " but you and I know that it is false for there are thousands whose life begins after their mothers have been raped and their minds forever destroyed.

I wonder if the mood, the emotional state of the man and woman, and the ambiance in which they come together have any bearing on the life that their two lives might or might not create.

What does a baby inside the womb of a mother feel and imbibe when outside the womb and in another world, its carrier, vehicle is being verbally and physically assaulted by the father or ?????????????????????????? God only knows.

In the end, kind words, a caring look, a gentle hug, and a steadying hand is what love is all about. It is the real womb of God. A womb that is full of light and sadly sometimes the light vanishes to give way to darkness.

I, you, and all of us are Heaven and Hell, and yes, light and dark.
