There have been many lucky pairings in the past that film-makers believed could contribute to the film's success. The pairings on their own became hit because of the chemistry shared between the hero and the heroine in scenes and also in the songs. We now take a look at some big first time pairings that are about to hit the screen and could well and truly spark another lucky streak like Ajith-Simran or Vijay-Trisha. Selvaraghavan has kept the film's storyline a secret and all the details emerging from the production only add to the curiosity levels. More so, the pairing of Arya and Anushka definitely look great together on screen from the images that have been released so far. Arya for one, should be able to compliment Anushka's tall structure quite well. It's the first time the director is working with both these stars and their pairing should make for one of the most intriguing performances next year.
2. KARTHI - HANSIKA (BIRIYANI)
Venkat Prabhu's long search for a suitable heroine for Biriyani ended with Hansika who will be seen shaking a leg with Karthi for the very first time. Both the young stars are gaining prominence in the industry with every project and it will be interesting to see how Venkat Prabhu brings out the chemistry between the two on screen.
3. AJITH - TAMANNAH (UNTITLED SIVA PROJECT)
'Siruthai' Siva has roped in one of the most popular heroines in the South, Tamannah, to pair with Ajith in his next project. The project promises to be an all-out commercial entertainer and Tamannah has displayed her skill in that genre on many occasions in the past in Tamil, Telugu and currently in Hindi as well.
4. JIIVA - TRISHA (ENDRENDRUM PUNNAGAI)
Jiiva teams up with Trisha for the first time in Ahmed's Endrendrum Punnagai which also has Vinay Rai and Andrea. But our focus is set on the Jiiva-Trisha pairing because Jiiva is getting a steady increase in popularity amidst the female audience post NEP, while Trisha has her set of loyalists. The film surely promises to be a treat for both their fans alike.
5. VIJAY - AMALA PAUL (UNTITLED A.L.VIJAY PROJECT)
Vijay will be romancing Amala Paul in the upcoming A.L. Vijay directorial venture. The young lass is steadily gaining popularity all across the South. She proved her acting mettle with films like Mynaa and Deiva Thirumagal and also showed she could play the commercial heroine in films like Vettai.
6. DHANUSH - SONAM KAPOOR (RAANJHANAA)
Post the raging hit of Kolaveri, Dhanush had become a household name across the country and in many parts of the world. The success gave him the opportunity to rub shoulders with the who's who of the country. It also opened doors to Bollywood where he's cast opposite the beautiful Sonam Kapoor. This surely promises to be one of the pairs to watch out for in the coming year
7. VISHAL - TRISHA (SAMAR)
While both Vishal and Trisha are known to be good friends for some time, Samar will be the first time that the two will act together. We will have to wait and see if their real life friendship can translate into good chemistry on screen. In what could be a dual role performance, Vishal also has Sunaina to romance in the same film.
8. RAJINI - DEEPIKA PADUKONE (KOCHADAIYAAN/RANA)
Two projects were talked about for this pair. While one is the animated film Kochadaiyaan, the characters are reportedly going to be life like. The other would supposedly be Rana which was shelved temporarily due to the Superstar's ill health. Deepika, who is one of the top leading ladies in Bollywood, will find herself lucky making her Tamil debut with Rajini.
9. SURIYA - HANSIKA (SINGAM 2)
This pairing could offer some interesting dynamics since Suriya's character is already linked with Anushka and director Hari has introduced Hansika into the scheme of things in the sequel. She will supposedly be playing a schoolgirl, which is something she can carry off quite nicely with her bubbly appearance.
10. VIKRAM - TABU (DAVID)
Bejoy Nambiar's David has a very unique story line and everything about the film seems to be new and refreshing. One of the pivotal points of the film promises to be the pairing of Vikram and Tabu who are both superlative performers in their own right. T
