Looks like Mollywood will have to wait longer to see the Makaramanju heroine at her athletic best. Karthika Nair had earlier confirmed to us that her second Mollywood outing will be Traffic-fame director Rajesh Pillai's next, Gold, in which she'll play an athlete. "Well, that still holds true," she says, adding, "But the shoot has been postponed for some time because Rajesh is busy with making Traffic in Hindi. I, on my part, have signed three Tamil flicks. So I guess we'll begin Gold's shoot only after both of us are done with our current busy schedules," says Karthika.
Meanwhile, the actress is gearing up to be a part of actor Vijay's debut production venture, in which she co-stars with Kollywood actor Sivaji Ganesan's grandson and actor Prabhu's son, Vijay Prabhu. "The shoot is scheduled to begin next week. The film has me as a hep and funky college girl," she informs. Besides, there is director Sunder C's next, in which she is paired with Vishal. "Vishal does a triple role in the film but I'm the only heroine whom the three try to floor," she says with a laugh. "This one, like all of Sunder C's films, promises to be a jolly entertainer." Meanwhile, the shoot of her Bharathiraja flick, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum, where she plays the title character, Annakodi, is still on.
On the Tollywood front, Karthika is basking in the success of her last release, Dammu, which has had an overwhelming response. "I might not be seen on the Mollywood screen for a while now but I'm very much around, thanks to the best debutant awards Makaramanju is bringing to me," she signs off on a happy note.
